Hello,
Going to start playing my Rogue more and wanted to quickly ask about Sin vs Sub spec.
Long story short, which is the easier spec to learn and has better survivability for a casual PVE/ LFR focused player?
I like the lore theme of Sub but I’ve read it’s a lot more unforgiving than Sin?
Thanks!
Subby sub sub. Good ST and great aoe

so long and short if you dont plan on pushing any sort of content either spec is going to be more then fine.
If you are looking for the easier rotation. Single target assassin is easier as its pretty much just keep your two dots on the target and don’t over cap combo points.
Sub has a lot more CD’s and your rotation and things are going to change along with having things with wanting to hold some abilities till other ones come back up however this is getting into the more min max territory as just pressing the stuff will be just fine for the much more casually play.
For AoE sub is hands down the easier, it pretty much consists of 2 buttons Shuriken storm > powder keg rinse and repeat.
For an assassin, you have to maintain 2-3 dots on all the targets while also debating if spamming crimson tempest or envenom as your point dump is better in the current situation.
I personally prefer and pretty much only play assassin so will throw this one more thing into the mix. This has no real merit with raiding as it wont be a issue but in M+ it can be a real pain cause if you have a tank that chain pulls and never drops combat you never get to restalth outside of using vanish or shadowmeld if you are a night elf.
This can be a major dampener for the play style as you lose a large chunk of damg not being able to spam garrotes that deal 50% more damg and have no cd from stealth.

Thanks heaps for the informative answer!
I’ll give Sub a go based on your breakdown.
Much appreciated!!
Sin is easier. Sub has better survivability.

Stats and gearing are similar for both specs. Try both.
