Assass or Outlaw for m+?

I love both. Im willing to play both. I play outlaw in pvp as well so i do have some incentive to play outlaw, but other than that, what are some of your experiences with either and can you tell me why your preferences are what they are?

Post nerfs outlaw (or even sub) are substantially stronger then sin in m+.

That being said, all 3 specs are good enough that you can play the one you want. Outlaw is generally considered the best overall spec in m+. Sin can also be clunky to play in a m+ setting.

For m+ at maybe 17 or lower, assassination is fine to play and can put up decent numbers even on trash. Can do very good numbers on bosses still. I know I’m not being very specific. I just mean, I can play and contribute good damage and have fun. Currently we are basically “artificially” capped, and assuming equivalent item level, you won’t usually be doing more damage than ret pallies, demon hunters, or hunters on trash or bosses, but on some bosses, depending on build & gameplay, you might.

Anyway, so, point is, Assassination is fine up to a point where the artificial cap matters more, which would seem to be over m18. DPS and total damage pressure are higher, and some groups may prefer Outlaw to Assassination, and will almost certainly prefer Subtlety to Assassination.

Caveat: I defer to rogues with more experience at m18 and up than I have.

All specs can easily do +20 keys when done right.

Sin is my fave spec for spec identity as a rogue, its all I play and love its theme. Thats it lol, really enjoy poison bomb procs, the playstyle, bleeds & poisons, etc.

That being said, Outlaw is simply better for m+, even though I won’t play it. Outlaw is an S tier spec, but honestly screw the meta, play the one you like best tbh

The only thing that really annoys me is pug tanks who chain pull, as re-stealthing between pulls is pretty important for us sin rogues, can be a real mood killer when you’re stuck out of stealth for 3 packs with vanish on CD

My vote is for Sin. I think Sin is criminally under utilized. People sleep on “Iron Wire”. I think being able to Garrot Silence the whole pack at the opener and when you Shadow Dance is very powerful. Also this is never talked about in the lower end of keys because most people in the lower end of keys just look at a youtube tier list and only judge a spec by the overall damage on Details, when in fact single target damage is utilized. Take for instance some of the mobs in Everbloom. Despite what healers and ranged say, it’s actually the abominations that are preventing the tank from pulling more. Having a single target specialist like Sin that can also to cleave at the same time to kill those things faster is CRITICAL in higher keys.
