Does this talent work differently in PvP?
I heard it got some hefty nerfs and that even after the rogue rework the spec will barely be better than it is on live. I been watching a lot of 10.2 tier lists from rank 1 players and they almost always put Sub rogue in S tier and Assa rogue in like B tier.
I haven’t been able to get into a BG to check if the tooltip for Sudden Demise changes for PvP, so if anyone knows if it does change for PvP I’d like to know how. thanks!
In pvp the threshold is 10%, and requires 250% bleed damage to trigger compared to the 35% / 200% pve values.
In terms of pvp potential between the specs, I’m no expert; but subs tier set is actually looking good while sin’s tier set is garbage, even if you spec heavily into optimizing envenom and poison damage.
We are also losing MFD, but gaining a little bit of talent flexibility in the spec tree and a small damage buff. I wouldn’t put much hope in things radically changing for the better.
So in other words, even after getting a rework, Assa spec is still going to be bottom tier and Sub is going to be the top rogue spec for PvP by a mile.
I’ve played Assa in PvP as my main since wrath, and anytime it becomes good it’s hard nerfed a week or two later. I think in the last 3 years (since the start of shadowlands) Assa has been the top PvP spec for maybe a month and a half total.
Honestly I don’t understand why Blizzard devs simp so hard for Sub over every other rogue spec for PvP. I know some people will say Sub is harder to play than Assa and thats why it’s better, that it has a higher skill cap, and I wouldn’t argue that point.
However I would say that it shouldn’t matter since, since Demon hunter, Fury warriors and Beast Mastery hunters are much easier spec’s than Assa and have all had way more time to shine in the last 3 years.
I play Assa because it’s the most fun spec to play of rogue, in my opinion. Warcraft Dev’s please let the Assassination spec outshine other rogue spec’s for more than a couple weeks a year for PvP.

Look at the bright side - at least we won’t get nerfed!
I am happy to see Sub and Outlaw receive some improvement. Assassination feels like it is being penalized for the unique kit has but other specs/classes in the game do not have the same penalties.
Honestly, rework did nothing good for assa, except few changes to m+
In PvP, we also suffer from losing MfD. The small gains are now more flexible talent trees, but in reality, if our dmg sucks the same as in S1 and S2, it will be still bottom tier spec.
Deathmark got untouched, still dispellable.
New Exsanguinate breaks stealth.
Slice and dice still a thing.
No defensive buffs for assa, but sub received more healing, pog.
Devs are highly sub biased.

If exsang breaks stealth then that’s it for me. I just came back recently for S3 after quitting at the end of season 1. I’ve heard the s2 tier set has been broken THE ENTIRE TIME.
If crap like this doesn’t get fixed I’m ooooooout.

s2 tier isnt even fixed in S3
Exsanguinate behave same as s2 tier, but you can play without it, its not really worth anyway.

20%-30% extra on the top 2 abilities for bleed build isn’t worth it?
Gotta say, feels pretty bad to not only get a tier set in S3 that sucks in pvp, but also be forced to play the envenom build because that’s the only option that even functions properly.
It’s absolutely insane to me that not only was tier broken the entirety of season 2, but they are breaking sanguine blades for s3 as well. If it goes live as is, I’m just out.

Good news everyone, esxang is crap in pvp! Sudden Demise also breaks it tho, so there’s that.

Because of the energy requirement, you are rarely above 50% energy except the opener.
yeah SB does not seem worth the hassle to hover above 50% energy.

Worth or not, it’s completely unacceptable that it’s also breaking stealth. DF brought a unique playstyle for sin with carnage allowing us to dot large groups in BG’s and stealth away benefitting from MA to do serious rot damage.
6+ months of tier set being broken and a new talent also not working is not okay, whether the larger community thinks it’s a wasted talent or not.

yeah big reason why i dont want to take it, otherwise its free damage, i can see it being pretty valuable with sudden death, or if you get CC’d and your dots just start ticking extra hard because you regen a ton of energy while locked up. getting a restealth in that scenario with big ticks critting would be lovely
