It would be nice to get Aspect of the Pack back in the unpruning specifically for running back to the boss after wipes. We all know it was the hunter’s fault we wiped, the least Blizzard can do is let the hunter redeem themselves. (That’s a hunter Joke)
EDITED IN IDEAS:
1: Aspect of the Pack is a baseline hunter spell that is an aura (it affects the whole group) but it’s not a toggle aura, like a Paladin aura, more like a Death Knight’s Path of frost. Where the Hunter activates it, and it gives a 3/5/10 minute speed buff, but if someone enters combat there’s No Daze. It’s just canceled on combat, and similar to potions, the button wont work again until combat ends.
A good Hunter could use it very effectively in M+ to quickly move the group between packs. Give it back baseline with the WoD Cheetah glyph (dispels and 10s CD when anyone with the buff takes damage) and it would be awesome.
I’d be okay with getting it unpruned if they reworked it a bit…
Like Adreaver said, that version of Aspect of the Pack would work best in unpruning. I can’t imagine how mad people would be with the old Dazed downside…
I think they should take the dazed part out of it entirely and just have it cancel on combat. Or, worst case scenario, just be a CD instead of an aura that gives the whole group cheetah for x seconds.
Hunters don’t really have a group buff spell like most of the other classes (fort, int, water walking, mass stealth, etc). We used to be a speed buff with AoP and attack power with trueshot aura.
We should get them both back, but I think AoP would make a biggest difference in the least significant way. As in there’s nothing Blizz has to really balance as far as combat (which impacts their esports). Getting back to the boss X% quicker really would only affect mythic raiding world first, which isn’t a blizzard esport.
Well actually movement is really important in M+ to move between packs as fast as possible, and that of course is an esport… Which also means that AoP would probably be balanced with that in mind.
I think it’ll probably be a cooldown basically like Druid’s Stampeding Roar (except more like Cheetah with the initial 80% speed?) since that seems to be how Blizz prefers to balance things out now.
Hunters are seriously lacking in useful utility and especially group utility so I do think AoP is something that would greatly help us out.
I thought of M+ after I sent that. I don’t really do mythic+, but the amount of time you spent out of combat in mythic+'s is pretty small. I can’t picture it saving much more time than a rogue stealthing a group to skip a pack of mobs, or a druid’s roar.
Blizz could make it so Pack just doesn’t work in mythics or have it be on a CD.
I’m really just thinking about all the poor little priests and warlocks I’ve seen miss the elevator by like 2 seconds. I always feel like there’s more I could have done. lol
Pretty much this. Though if I had to choose, I would make it cancel on taking damage. But this would require hunters getting aspects back in the form they were originally.
In Vanilla/BC having a hunter in your group meant recovering from wipes faster. Or in case your healer died and no one else could rez, the hunter could run back for them and get the healer back to the group faster. This is especially useful on longer dungeons.
Recovering from wipes faster would always be a good thing in M+.
I still think Hunting Party should be a regular talent and not a pvp talent. It’d be damn useful in M+ and heavy movement phases in raids. Trailblazer is way too niche
Yeah reduced CD on Exhilaration is way more useful in that row. The only time I used trailblazer was when I was questing at the beginning of the expansion to get to objectives quicker. It’s basically a solo talent.
But as far as group content, sure trailblazer will get you to the boss quicker on a wipe, or between trash packs, but even if you get there first you still have to wait for the rest of the group.
They could replace Trailblazer with Aspect of the Pack on that row, making your choice between survival and speed carry a little more weight. If they did that though I would rather it be a “Give party cheetah for x seconds” on a CD but usable in combat since the hunter would be sacrificing their own survivability in combat in order to benefit the group.
Similar to how Posthaste is obviously the better choice for ME but binding shot is the better choice for the group in certain encounters.
