Guild tanks are burnt out so Ive been asked to help out and tank again. Ive played every tank there is, I’m falling asleep on retail and beta. What’s a man to do?

There’s so many BM Hunters that it’s making me reconsider for easier access to endgame lol.

Dunno. My GM kinda wants me to tank, but I don’t worry about that much. He’s too damn lazy to bug me about it.
I might tank dungeons/keys, since I got a taste for it again, somewhat. However, I’m a raid DPS main.

Agreeing to tank in a progression environment is kind of a long term thing. If you’re not feeling it you’re better off saying it now rather than forcing yourself to do a role you’re not having fun with for potentially 2 years if you stick to it for the sake of your guild’s raid comp or whatever.
It is not your problem that the current tanks don’t want to do it anymore. Are they even burnt out or are they just crying because of the TWW tanking changes? Regardless, if they don’t want to tank, then they can stop. If there’s no room for them to swap to DPS or whatever without existing DPS swapping to Tank, then they can leave your guild/team or sit on the bench. Not your responsibility to take over the role they signed on to do.

Retire the shield like the others? 
If tanking’s not fun for you, just tell them so. Better for the guild to have more time to find someone who wants to tank than hedge their bets on someone who burns themself out quickly.

If you are a purple or pink parser, I would tell them to get steppin lol.
I went down the same path years ago, my friend. 10 year BM hunter main and I decided to dip my toes into healing for an easier pugging experience. Never looked back.
