Got invited to a group for ZF, was asked not to use poison on Main-hand, got booted when I asked “why?”
Am I missing something here?

It’s because you are a rogue and they want 4 mages plus a priest. Typical excuse
Windfury. If you use poison on MH you don’t get it.
dot poison only matters in a raid unless they are somehow using all 16 slots in a five man
ah forgot about the mainhand windfury thing, though that could have been communicated without a kick
Aah I see…
Same reason a warrior should not sharpen his main hand with a shaman in the group. harsh to kick you for not knowing that.
Eh… it is what it is, I guess.
And I guess saying that to him was more than the group could do. I mean it was 11 words. It’s a lot to expect someone to do that much typing.
Poisons, as well as sharpening stones will prevent windfury totem from being applied.
Real jackass move to boot without even explaining this. A lot of experienced players don’t even know this. You’ve got old time WoW players that are rolling a melee class for the first time, etc. Consider yourself saved from being part of a very elitist, go-go-dungeon group.
Would my DPS suffer that much compared to others that have the buff?
Sounds like you lucked out and got a quick escape from a group full of friends who enjoy circle jerking each other over their vast knowledge and superior skills.
Chances are one pointed out to another how you were not adhering to something they’d seen in a video guide or stream, inspiring another to bark an order at you.
When you answered with an honest question that in reality warranted nothing more than an explanation, they instead had the fragile foundations of their egos shook to the point fear demanded immediate exclusion of anything and anyone who dare make their minds wander towards anything other than how masterful they are at this video game.
They should not have kicked you, but on the bright side, I think you just dodged a big bullet there.
Yeah I was invited, then asked that via whisper, then booted 10 sec later… but I agree, not necessarily the kind of people I’d want to run with anyways.
It would be noticeable, especially if you’re sword spec. Would it be horrendous, like 50% less? Of course not. I guess they figured you were a complete noob and didn’t want to bother explaining. But now you know! Saves you on reagents for the future.
Probably spot-on my friend, sadly. Oh well. Thanks guys. The more you know.
This pretty much sums it up. Id put mh bets on this being that actual reason.
Did you at least have time to aggro as much stuff as possible and run it to them before it kicked you out of the dungeon?
Welcome to high level rogue life.
Yes most are talking behind your back and trying to remember if lockpicking allows the run to go faster…or calculating odds that you will roll on certain drops, or whether they want to horde lockboxes.
They’re all hardcore no-life dweebs, that will probably quit Classic for the next Diablo ladder.
Find groups that want to have fun, or are cool enough to explain or willing to save ww totem for certain fights etc
Nah lol, I had just hopped on the fp the moment I got invited…
I asked to join Ony raid as Disc DPS.
Was told I can only dps as shadow and they already have a shadow priest. The pug leader was a priest…
