Ultimately though, I do think it could be improved.
I’ve never quite understood “just spam trade chat” argument, which has honestly existed for a very long time against so many things. I personally don’t get why people think spamming is a such an amazing system.
Trade chat isn’t your only option, you could ask your guild, maybe. That’s always been my first course of action.
I have my /2 turned off most of the time. I join it to find crafters or whatever I need. I leave when I am done to avoid whatever nonsense they’re up to today in Stormwind.
Listen, as someone who played every expansion since vanilla except 2, I am very aware of all the things you can do to basically circumvent system limitations. However, I have always applauded when better systems are in place. Vanilla wasn’t the peak of system design ok. In other words, ask guildmates had always, and will always be, an option, but we can also do much much better than that.
Perhaps. I’m not opposed to a “looking for crafter” system. I’m not fearful of change.
I just learn to work with the system I’m given and deal with some of the inconveniences that exist. If they’re worth my time, I interact with them, if not, I don’t.
I do the exact same, but it doesn’t stop me from thinking a change would be good or get me to support it? That would be like the people who said they don’t need to learn how to send emails cause they can just write letters. I feel it’s the same here. I have never used the public order system, but I think the idea to add a minimum quality setting would be good. Until then, I’ll avoid the system when I want something a certain rank, but I don’t simultaneously think “and because I don’t need this system, it shouldn’t be changed.”
It’s not. That’s the problem. Spamming trade is probably one of the worst systems in any MMO. The public crafting system could easily be modified to stop most of the spamming if there was a system where people could put up a req and crafters could make it with the intended quality. And no, not everyone would ask for T5, it would be limited to your mats. So if you put up T1 mats, you’re getting a T1…MAYBE T2 item.
This isn’t rocket science and people defending a broken system is just laughable.
Almost 1000 replies, so yeah, there’s some merit to having this changed.
Unlike you, I pay attention and use the proper systems for what I order. You got the item you ordered.
The one you ordered which was in the preview window at the lowest quality that would be able to be provided. The item you set as the order, paid for, and received. That item.
You did. The item in the preview window is always the lowest quality of the item you can receive from your order. You not knowing that (or just ignoring that, we are firmly past the not understanding territory) doesn’t change anything.
Also, pro tip: Reading the full sentence is useful
Why you cant set the “min level” on public orders is beyond me. You can on personal and guild orders so I know its possible.
Seems like just a oversight from Blizzard and prob will be changed some day.
For this reason right now I only do personal orders from people in trade chat.
