Why are you trying to do a T5 using public orders? It takes all over 30 seconds to check trade chat and find someone… and PM them.
Public orders are for “it doesnt matter” stuff.

I think the closest comparison to the Wendy’s order is when I order something on a delivery app that doesn’t accept custom requests and then call the store realizing I want a change. I’ve done it a few times due to user error or something else. It’s a lottery if it’s heeded or not.
Again, the system being designed this way is not productive. I just don’t think being super angry about it is going to help you either.
Because the system is bad and the person who crafted my item is bad! Reeeee!
The tools are available to avoid this entire thing from happening and somehow people still find a way to mess it up and then complain. OP, you’re kicking a dead horse. The honor system hasn’t been a thing in online gaming… Ever.
Just be social for two minutes and find that crafter, it won’t kill you.
You’re calling for a change to a system that’s fine because you did it wrong and simply don’t want to do it right… because you don’t want to. If you want insufferable look in the mirror.
Go buy a lottery ticket.
Doubt X on both accounts.
Public orders are rarely max rank. You get ppl who just want first craft and dont care.
If someone puts in an order for R5, you cannot make less than that and fill the order. You made a public order, meant for anyone to make as part of leveling their professions, and got R4. Public orders are not meant to have a minimum quality setting. If you want that, use something that provides it.
This I agree with. The UI really needs to allow us to preview what we’re able to make without requiring us to have all the materials ready to go. I believe there are addons that allow this, but Blizz should really have this built in to the UI already.
Same goes for looking up guild professions. It’s nice to know who can do what, but it’s even more surface-level as you can only see what crafts they have available. No implementation of specialization or any sort of specific skill info.
It doesn’t hurt anyone, the system is designed such that anyone can fill a public order to level their professions. If they let every order set R5, that undoes the point of public orders in general. If you want minimum quality, find a guild or crafter. If you want fast and cheap, public order.
Blizzard wants people to socialize.
Yeah, it’s not a great system. If you’ve got friends or a guild who can craft something for you, and you trust them, it’s a non-issue. Anything and anyone else is a mixed bag at best.
Pressing a button isn’t “socializing”. It’s silly if you think so.
Joining a guild or discussing with a crafter is, though.
Exactly. I understand that Blizz wants this system for people to up their professions, but it could be better.
How could it be better? Your suggestion would make it worse.
That’s the goal, whether it works or not is another matter.
We already solved needing the crafter to be there with vellums for enchanting. This is a return to that.
Correct, talking to the crafter and coming to an agreement on the pricing and other such things is the socializing part.
… is to understand that the OP got exactly the item that they requested. But were unhappy about it because they are a Karen.
Just because the OP fails to use a system for what it is meant doesn’t make it unproductive. Public orders are a great way to get any kind of consumable goods that is either soulbound or has soulbound components.
OP used a system meant for basic gear where the quality doesn’t matter, like for PvP gear or crests. Or where you can ask a crafter for consumables like the inscription knowledge tomes.
What they got were gear way above what most people get from the system, and is still upset about it, and flat out refuses to understand that they are just fundamentally wrong. That’s just the full summary of the thread and OP.
And here’s the full evidence that the OP just want folks to make stuff for 'em for free.
The only people who ever treat or talk about the updated professions who say stuff like this ALWAYS want stuff for free. So… yeah.
OP is without a shadow of a doubt just an angry Karen.
