Ashran flower buffs

not everyone gets a flower, there are only so many up at a time and wandering around solo looking for one at the start is asking for death because you won’t make it back to your faction before you are caught and killed by the other.

is 100% the magic number? at what point will it make a difference if the players don’t play well with what they are given in the first place?

what it comes down to is while you are busy figuring out a use for your toys, my team will be brute forcing our way down the map to your mage, where we will brute force kill the mage and then farm the bridge for the next 10 minutes. clutch plays by individuals with toys don’t happen anymore, winning is a combined group effort and comes down to which team can maintain formation and momentum, if those are both solid, then it comes down to which team knows the map and epic pvp better.

Well that completely glossed over the question, which was trying to understand that a 15% all-stat permanent increase that you can’t lose is “worthless” but a 20% increase to one stat that you can lose is “the only thing that matters”.

This is a bit of a generous exaggeration given she heals Horde up to full rather than doing anything actually dangerous. She welcomes it.

The point is the Horde has an easier time building this momentum. Even in your suggestion of how the Alliance should play, they should go BACKWARDS to go forward.

If the flowers are truly so benign, then surely the Horde would have no problem removing them altogether…

because i have steamrolled teams that had flowers, SS, and AA, so i know that the map toys are really just map toys.

the reason the solar sphere is better than the flower is because we don’t need to waste time on it as a team, we can send a good pvper or two to get and camp it. compare that to flowers where we have our teams doing an easter egg hunt in the dark woods for 3 minutes.

i mean, you can talk about the differences all you want, but its just an npc to kill, and when you get momentum going it really does not matter which mage is dying or which faction is doing the killing.

this is because alliance makes a step forward on the map and does a strike, then rolls the momentum into the ogre in order to recap the map back up to the bridge. they can sit at bridge, but keeping pugs away from glads is difficult, plus ogre can let ally cap up the map without worrying about a horde comeback.

essentially its a tactical fallback.

i wouldn’t have a problem with this, in fact remove all the ashran toys, the AA, the solar sphere, the rare books, jails, etc. those are for the zone and brawl. the epic version is nothing more than TMvSS set in ashran instead of hillsbrad with some extra flavor added.

And IOC… can’t have alliance always getting to hanger first . Either slow them down or buff the other 2 bases

If it’s not useful why are full teams in the woods hunting for it? When Ashran first came out in wod, it wasn’t such a game breaker since it played out different. Now, it’s a pretty big game changer to have those easily accessible to one faction. If they were at the ogre, it would be more central and either faction would have their shot at it.

that’s a really good question, one i have answered already.

Not scrolling through 88 replies to find that answer.

It wasn’t much of an answer:

The tl;dr is “we used to go there because of the rare and the flowers, now we only go there because change is slow”

I likely played with you. I can add to this that it was a prot warrior that almost solo’d the Alliance Mage. The concept of being able to do that is laughably bad and is just another pin in showcasing why Ashran needs to be fixed badly.

i dont think the buff is the problem. i think the problem is alliance rushing to flowers thinking it’s the best strat, losing multiple people that get there too early, and having a ton of semi afk late people arrive too late

Horde must have been suffering from Covid last night. I was also in a winning Ashran, after wiping them in the forest, we got our flowers and killed the Ogre. After that, no one knew what to do, but we eventually won through attrition with neither side managing to kill the other’s mage.

after 5 Ashrans today there is no doubt these buffs need to be looked at now, it is one big slap straight across the face by Blizzard aimed at the Alliance, how can they leave this go on for so long knowing darn well it is a clear and decisive advantage for the Horde.

because nobody likes the current ashran but Holinka, and the only reason it stays is because the other devs are scared Holinka will beat them up and put them in a closet.

Won an Ashran earlier on my Alliance Druid alt using Mage rush strat, as far as I know only a few of our pugs went into the forest to grab a flower :man_shrugging:

Not the end of the world if you don’t have flower buff.

What buff is this?

If I remember correctly brolinka was a beast.

The flower buff is falling off when you die . Happened to me twice yesterday. Wonder if this is a bug or whether they have changed how it works .
