Ashes of Creation. The next WoW killer

I read threads saying it was going to happen every year since release.

Next?

Come on, man. You’re not making convincing arguments for AoC killing WoW.

It’s not happening, but it really wouldn’t require mouse and keyboard.

But they just recently once again restated they have no plans for wow on consoles.

People already play with a controller wtf? Come on Dexter. Do some research. People can even play WoW on their phone. In a couple years that will be enhanced tremendously and it will become viable throughout the difficult content

He didn’t say WoW was killed. Classic is 16 years older, TBC is as good as announced after they released player survey.

Playing, and playing well enough to not get kicked out of your group is 2 different things. Although I guess it wouldn’t be a issue if it was a console only server.

That will only help WOW overall. Consoles make more money annually than PC Games do.

People raid mythic and do top 5 dps on a controller, you wouldn’t even know if they were just a good player.

Blizzard has new hired mobile developers

It’s a long, repeated and flawed debate.

There’s a cool addon that recreates WoW into a console style RPG. I level’d through dungeons just fine.

PVP, higher keys and mythic raid, sure.

Actually starts looking it up.

Hrmm… very little game engine footage other than their Battle Royale trailer on their website. Animations look fairly stilted, graphic quality is meh… going for that realistic look that’s going to get awkward in 5 years or less.

Advertising nodal concept and the environment and world built by the players with evolving quest chains based on player actions.

They’re basically trying to build Medieval Sword and Sorcery EvE Online. It’ll probably pull a few EvE players to it who are interested in starting in a universe that doesn’t have an established political landscape, but the hardcore PvP and lose your items and stuff aspect aren’t going to attract any significant number of the WoW population, especially not with its aesthetic and animations compared to WoW’s graphics and when they realize they’ll have to PvP in order to access any significant PvE encounters.

Spell effects are Flashy and big and bold, but I doubt that’s going to hold up in any large-scale content.

Ah, Lazypeon has a video up that actually has decent in-game engine footage. These guys are bad at website-ing.

Much different picture and much better animations and graphics than what they have on display on their website.

Yeah, this is pretty much Medieval Sword and Sorcery EvE Online. It’s not going to kill wow. It’ll probably cause a blip, and if their server tech survives launch and functions it’ll compete with EvE… but I don’t believe it’s a WoW killer.

Not always true anymore.

Exact numbers are hard to find but it’s much more equal now.

Nah, it won’t. Looks like a great game, but it’s not similar to WoW in the slightest.

Mate, any entertainment that takes a significant chunk of WoW’s playerbase bleeds subs. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, a lot of SL content is thanks to competing with FF.

WoW took a hit but Blizzard is trying to win those back.

Trust me it is going to happen

Blizzard is scared of alienating the player/fanbase so they will ease it in slowly. But eventually it will be viable on all forms of media.

Phone, Console, Computer.

It’ll likely murder Archeage though, but that game is basicly dead anyways. Terrible team running it.

People are going to leave a game to try something new. It happens all the time.

But I listed (only a few, I could go on and on) of games that were “absolutely!” going to kill WoW but didn’t, even years later.

People are clearing mythic on controller, sooo…

That said, wouldn’t heal with one no matter how well it’s set up lol.

Have you see how badly Archeage unchained has been received lol.

Yeah, the guy who made the game (Ashes) literally said he pulled a lot of inspiration from EvE, Archeage and Lineage 2 when designing the game. If it’s good it’ll definitely be the king of the building/warring sandboxy type mmo games.

The people who think it’s remotely similar to WoW or will do anything to WoW’s player base knows nothing about the game.
