Ashes of creation is looking really good

They merged to unreal 5 and holy smokes that’s what a modern mmorpg should look like.

The combat is also looking much more snappy… Their honing it in and I am getting so pumped!

I love wow but their obviously not going to innovate for the future on a new engine.

I can’t wait for the new matrix game on UE5 aswell

Well as along they don’t finally release somewhere in 2022 or in the earlier half of 2023, then hopeful they will iron out the imperfections and such for an engine change.

…Mind giving us a video or something to look at?

Okay, what combat?.. Mind giving us a video or something to look at?

Or you can reserve your hype until the game actually comes out and actually be good. I don’t think we need another “New World” in terms of Hype.

This game is literally just going to end up like New World where it’s all hype that can’t be delivered and the game dies out a month later.

I watched some videos and it looks pretty good. The 2 downfalls I see are the focus on PVP and very limited flying. They are alienating a large potential player base right from the start.

Here you go guy

Oh.

I mean it looks alright, but nothing mindblowing. Kind of reminds me of Skyrim from 2011. Though i dig the feathery bits of the guy’s shoulder pads, looks like feathers alright. And i do dig how the ice looks, as well the open parts of the cave keeps on snowing despite the fact your inside.

Wish the video is in 60fps to show this off a bit better. :slightly_frowning_face:

Also that motion blur, oy. :face_vomiting:

I don’t know much about, AoC, but I hope they do more than just make a pretty sandbox. I mean, that’s great and all, but without some kind of captivating stories to draw people in, it’s just going to devolve into a bot paradise of resource gathering and PvP. Bleh.

Ashes of creation comes off as another variant of New World, to where it’s like a gold plated ring. It looks nice and shiny, but after a while the gold rubs off and you see the ugly interior of the ring. Which to me ashes of creation will follow as the first issue is it’s a pure PvP game, and that already will drive quite a few players away.

With the node system being a major point of concern, as the current way it works is that of you can basically only have a single node acvtive and fully upgraded. Which means if you want to activate another node, you have to raze the active node and build up the node you want. This already will lock a lot of content out from more casual players, as the only way you can do that is through wars. That will be determined by a small portion of the overall player base at a time given they all have to agree to abandon or destroy the node. To be able to change over to a new node, and the reality is all nodes simply should be active at all times.

Then comes the question of balance, as they currently intend to implement a total of 64 classes, and that’s just insane to try and balance. Like look at blizzard, they have if we’re going by ashes logic 35 classes, and they already struggle really hard to balance half the number ashes has planned.

Ashes right now looks neat, but I guarantee balance will be a constant issue as it’s simply too big. It’s too big and ambitious, and similar to new world it will be its own demise as a result.

The game is just vaporware. They’ve been selling monthly $400 alpha/beta packs for years, and a long kickstarter before that. When they switched to a FOMO model to try and get people invested into the project it should have raised a bunch of flags with people. They’re just running away with the cash at this point.

is that the one going to court for running with the kickstarter money?

I think that was camelot unchained, another vaporware MMO that swindled tons of money through kickstarter and post-kickstarter bundles.

Chronicles of Elyria was the one I was thinking – but that too!
