With Season of Discovery’s unveiling, there was one item that I personally was most excited for and that was the Ashenvale PvP announcement.
This is one of my favorite Vanilla/Classic starter zones. I have so many fond memories of this zone. I remember back in early 2005 announcements being made in global chat about Astranaar being under attack by the Horde. I was so new to the game but wanted to help out if I could and so me and a couple friends headed down there from Darkshore.
We were met with much higher-level Horde players but still had a blast fighting over a town that was Alliance owned. I can still remember a horde undead rogue, that before he finished me off, waved at me.
Fast forward to the present day and to hear about the zone being turned into something similar to Alterac Valley has me so very excited!!! What a beautiful zone to PvP in. I do believe that THIS will be a place of great memories and will often be reflected on in the future when people look back at this moment in WoW history.
No high levels coming and ruining the fun, no massive gear advantages, and a lot of uncertainty and lack of knowledge on what classes will shine in that bracket of PvP.
Part of me wishes that the level cap wouldn’t be raised too quickly… but until the level cap does get raised, I will be spending as much time enjoying this PvP event as possible. I truly do believe the Ashenvale PvP event will be THE most memorable part of this Season of Discovery.
