I killed Sharptalon twice after having completed The Ashenvale Hunt (lvl 20 quest). Almost got myself killed on my lvl 28 warrior, but survived thanks to the guards.
Both times, it did not drop his claw to start the quest. There was a guy in chat who said it happened to him for all 3 special mobs. Has anyone else had the issue?
(Happened on Farkyu, my lvl 28 warrior on Defias Pillager)
Pretty sure you need to do the majority of the damage to sharptalon. Just hitting him and having the guards kill him, I swear, has caused me to not get the loot before on non HC servers.
If the guards did too much of the damage, it will not drop loot.
As far as if they work / drop or not…I did all 3 2 days ago when doing Ashenvale.
Had to turn in the quest like twice to that Tauren chick for it to work for me
