If this ends up becoming a possibility the Wake of Ashes should be a change/buff to Holy Wrath when equipped.

Agreed. They should go big with the Ashbringer if they end up doing it.
2K Holy Damage to Undead on a massive AoE on a shortish cooldown. Light up the room so the whole raid knows what’s up.

Ashbringer should have the same stats but with 1k feral ap just to make people speculate how a feral could even use a sword

Make it a hunter only weapon just to mess with the paladins.
forreal though I hope they actually do end up doing a Truthbearer scenario where the weapon can switch between a slow Twister weapon and a Fast Exodin weapon.

Give us a long questline to purify it. But this HAS to be THE legendary. Don’t care if it’s OP. It has to be the best weapon in the game, and have some insane modifiers like you said.
Some other ideas would be instead of Wake of Ashes either Templar’s Verdict or Final Reckoning. Some insane in your face massive melee damage or insanely cool burst of light coming down from the heavens.

Yep, they have a chance to do that quest line here. I would say any special on use or modification has to be applied to Undead or Demons. Holy Wrath is a great spell to use unless they add in Wake of Ashes.

Its astetically fun, I do understand why you have that reaction which fair.
Meaning if they went this route then make it a very fun button to push via the weapon.
Probably also add a Blazefury affix to it.
You don’t want that to happen, it will cause wipes. Look at FFXIV’s Red Mage Limit Break 3 screen lights up and people die because they cant see.
And demons.
I think that’d be pretty funny.
…even better would be a trinket that curses the target with Undeath.
PVP would be pretty funny.

I still believe the best thing they can do with Ashbringer would be to set it up like Truthbearer to switch between Corrupted (Twisting mode) and Purified (Exodin mode) but that would also mean heavily prioritizing the weapon for paladins whereas Warriors and Hunters also have their eyes on the weapon.

An idea yes, if a purified version shows up allow that purify to have a swap.
However this goes into the logic of they said new leggos would show up eventually so why not.
