Given that Season of Discovery has brought a lot of changes to loot, encounters, and quests what do you all think about Blizz potentially adding in a questline to purify the Ashbringer when we eventually get to Naxxramus? I admit I’m relatively new to WoW but heard many stories from friends of the search for a way to get the original Ashbringer in Classic Wow which was never fully implemented.

They were supposed to do that in TBC, do you really want them to forget twice?
The Ashbringer is canonically purified when Tirion confronts the Lich King in at the Battle of Light’s Hope. Given that SoD is not about changing the events of the past, it’s unlikely we’ll get to purify Ashbringer if they ever get to offering Naxx.
I also wanna add that in Lore: Alexandros Mograine the 1st Ashbringer had the Dreadnaught set first crafted for him. Dreadnaught needs a Warrior/Paladin option when that comes for the ret set. JUST SAYING.

Ashbringer will either be a 2.00 speed weapon to match the Paladin Meta.
or
Blizz will make Ashbringer a Shaman only weapon since that is their favorite class.
Or… you toss the sword into the void lake so that the Lady of the Void can catch it and corrupt it even further…

Considering all the new quests they are adding are canon then no. But then again, players obtaining it in the first place was never canon either so who knows
You uh…let him borrow the ashbringer for the battle after finding it in naxx. After the battle he presents you the uncorrupted version as a reward for bringing it to him just in time and mentions how he might need to borrow it in the future.b

Except that, I think Naxx40 was kind of retconned with WotLK. Between that and the comic, we never canonically held the Ashbringer until Legion, corrupted or otherwise.
would be sick if they somehow included it in a scarlet crusade raid at 60 if they plan on doing 1. its lore people want to experience, its a legendary paladin weapon that deserves a place in sod.
