They should make it that we get to unlock the legendary level 60 version of the ashbringer if we don’t die with the soul of iron on 3 classes in raids
We have to tank on all bosses as a warrior
Heal on ALL bosses as a paladin
And ranged dps on all bosses as a hunter
And then we have to survive many battlegrounds and not die once until we have a killcount of 1000 players and it doesn’t count if the player if afk or let’s you kill him. Also it has to be different players. So 1000 different players makes it harder to cheat.
Blizzard can think of harder ideas. These aren’t the hardest ideas. They are examples.
Team Blizzard specifically specified that once casters had gotten their legendaries like Atiesh that they were going to release Ashbringer.
- On February 24th, 2006, Eyonix stated on the official forums that “It’s true that currently Ashbringer is not in the game, although one day in the future it will be, but not until after there is an awesome legendary item for casters. ;)” – a now obvious reference to Atiesh.

After you have done that you now need to get the corrupted ashbringer. Take it to highlord Fairbanks. Go to the outland by cloning your 60 with the corrupted ashbringer. Speak to whoever Fairbanks wanted you to speak with. And maybe return to Fairbanks.
Or maybe make it so you can unlock a series of ultra hard challenges that lead to ashbringer or maybe make it so soul of iron gives us another reward. Not ashbringer.
And make it that we eventually can get ashbringer somehow. Maybe an ultra rare card that costs 10k like a spectral tiger or something.
Or a reward from something super hard.

If you don’t see the point of Soul of Iron if there isn’t some loot reward, then Soul of Iron isn’t for you.

It would still be cool if you can unlock a legendary with it. What better opportunity than now?

I don’t know, then the try-hard meta sheep would find ways to game the system and ruin it. I’m happy with it as is. The buff is the reward.

But if they die then it would take far too long for them to level a new char and enter that same raid to upset a second player and put pressure on a new player or upset them.
And if they try and exploit like they did with Heigan. Blizzard can nerf any way to do it.
Think about it. With this change. The game has more weight. It becomes like gambling and you will be more addicted to playing the game because you have more to lose and the risk increases. Then you will be pushed to never quitting or unsubbing until you’ve gotten it.
Say you don’t die on one class. And you need to not die on ALL CLASSES. Then don’t fret. It saves per class. So you have a saved state.

They should make it that we can unlock ashbringer if we don’t die on ALL 8 classes
Better if it’s soul iron buff for PvE and if horde kills you you have to start over. And if you reached 60 without dying and completed all raids without dying while participating and not afking then after you complete your last raid like naxx. Your character is saved with a saved state or checkpoint. So you are safe. And you have to do thesame thing on ALL other 8 classes. However. If you fail on say your third or 5th class or 6th 7th or 8th. Then the 1st characters saved checkpoint is gone. You have to start all over again at 0. That would be ultra hard though. Or blizzard can make it that you are saved per class so if you fail on the 2nd char. You don’t need to delete the first or one before it. I think that’s optimal.
It saves on each player checkpoint after naxx so if you do all raids and die, it is still saved. Or maybe it doesn’t save and if you die it resets to 0. If it doesn’t then that’s ultra hard mode.
Because players are avoiding each other out of fear and chickening for grouping up or doing dungeons or while questing. Why doesn’t blizzard beat this problem by just making the soul of iron buff have two ways to unlock ashbringer.
One is to do PvP and survive long enough for 1000 games on ALL 8 classes. And you can get a count on the buff of 1/1000. And if you fail you can reobtain the buff.
Or second one is you can pick the buff at level 60 and if you die with the
It also resets at first character and not forces you to relevel your first character because some people might not know about the buff before it’s too late and they might waste it when they are level 1. So to be fair. Make it that even after you die on your first character. You can rebuff the buff and get it again. You just need to unlock ashbringer by not dying on ALL 8 CLASSES.
It resets back to the first class. You have saved states. if you die anywhere from your 2nd to 8th different class character then if you had not died on your first and completed all raids (without afking) then you are saved on your first character. Or may be you’re not saved to your first character. But you can still get the buff again and start at 0 classes completed.
So it’s very hard and only some people can get it.
We would need to get corrupted ashbringer as well on the warrior hunter or paladin you want the ashbringer unlocked. So there’s two things you need to do. You would do this after the soul of iron buff challenge of completing all raids without dying.
You get the corrupted ashbringer. Take it to highlord Fairbanks. Go to the outland by cloning your 60 with the corrupted ashbringer. Speak to whoever Fairbanks wanted you to speak with. And maybe return to Fairbanks. Or maybe not.
Maybe when you log back into classic you will have it.
In wowhead blizzard were mentioned that they were going to release ashbringer after mages got atiesh. And they forgot.
Blizzard should give the soul of iron buff some more meaning.

Imagine the hype. If Blizzard made this possible. People would be attempting this for a reason and wouldn’t cry about there being no reward and there would be weight to doing it.
They literally gave everyone an artifact ashbringer for free in legion (not the 60 version)
It was so stupid.
But the soul of iron buff is far more time intensive. At least it’s worth it.
If it resets back to your first character you don’t need to delete your characters. You just need to do the raids all over again. Or again maybe make it that the longer you can stay alive in PvP or the more games you can do without dying. You are closer to unlocking it.

You could just do the HC challenge for the "Challenge. Not everything needs a participation trophy or reward. People have been doing the HC challenge on servers before it became a buff and I don’t remember seeing a single person whine about not getting more rewards.

Oh yeah. I’d love to unlock a legendary item that half the classes can’t even use.
What am I gonna do with a sword on my Shaman or Druid?
Kind of cringe to demand an in game item for something you voluntary chose to do.

Really cringe you don’t appreciate talented ideas when you see them.
You’d be a terrible game designer.
But then again. You’re a gnome.

They already have a legendary and it’s called
Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.

Way to drop the ball. They’ve already confirmed it in 2006 that they planned on doing it once casters got Atiesh.

Rofl. Good luck seeing all the millions of threads in anger over it being pointless due to being rewardless. Just read how many posts. I dare you.
You are not prepared.
In legion they give us a free ashbringer. Wow.
But kill yourself in classic for nothing.

the npc who gives you the buff literally says there will be no reward.

There’s thousands of players who are enjoying HC without there being a carrot on a stick. It ain’t gonna happen lmao. Maybe next season :^)!
