Ashbringer, I can Never bring myself to wield it anymore

Legion Destroy me… what they did to Tirion Fordring, And read up and know history my man Tirion is man to suffer until the end, Man lost his family and wife, He force see his own son die by Scarlet crusader.

Now I watch Knight I grew up and inspire around WoTLK for his heorics and call of action… Only get kill by Raid boss and toss side to give player the sword

I know the weight and history of blade… and given the Ending of Legion destroy it even more…

I Feel wrong and Hallow holding a trasmog of the blade, As I bitter Look at other player wield it without shame… But knowing price and what happen to it…

I Can not even look at Ashbringer What Painful memory it bring back tormented memory’s to Tirion Fordring and how blizzard kill him just for “Here your pally sword”

Let not forget the DK try to raise him As Death knight (Glad they did not but really sad I did not find him in Shadowlands)

It’s sad Blizzard threw him away just to give the players Ashbringer. They didn’t do that with Thrall and Doomhammer.

To be fair, Tirion also wasn’t going to do much in the future, given his bargain with the light. He would never be blessed again after he asked to gain strength one last time to shatter Frostmourne.

Tyrion asked you to wield it for him and destroy the Legion. At the end of Legion, I did some RP where I buried it in a deep, dark place where it could never be found again, and then dropped it in my void storage. Tyrion died, the Legion was stopped, and the Ashbringer finally laid to rest.

Tirion was once the strongest champion of the light on Azeroth, who had been retired for multiple years at that point in time. He died leading the charge into the heart of an army of demons, clung to life through hellfire and the torment of a demon and only passed once he knew that the Ashbringer was safe that it could continue to be a weapon against the legion. He and Varian (and Vul’jin before Shadowlands lore came to ruin him) all died as heroes charging the Temple of Sargeras or to ensure that their people could survive and regroup. It was hardly a throwaway death to pass off the sword

It was never teased or promised. Also the sword corrupts the user, turning them into a new LK so its better broken.

This is how I imagine a ret paladin would speak

Stay… Stay back! the Light will protec-ACK
what a hilarious end to a character. on one hand I find it offensive that Blizzard could treat an old character in such a away, but on the other the tears from the most annoying class in the game about one of their beloved idols was and will always be hilarious

It’s not like the Ashbringer was a central part of his character. He only wielded it for a short period of his life. And it had been used by others as well. Passing to other paladins is a theme of the sword.

Tirion should have been raised to be a horseman. :eyes:

Well, not new lich king, it makes you subserviant to the lich king but there isnt one anymore so…not sure how thatd work actually

Nah. I actually really like how that all played out. I audibly gasped when it came up in the questline that we were going to raise him. It really felt like the death knights were going to cross a line. So when the paladins told us to take a hike, I was happy about it. It felt correct for the story.

Some folks just can’t help but be the villain in someone else’s tale. I’m sure the OP is pleased to know who theirs is.

This is why you must wield it. Knowing its history, and the tale of Tirion you must honor him by bringing the light to bear in his name. Horde or Alliance, it does not matter. Every paladin’s battle prayer should simply be a whispered “For Tirion…” as we seek to protect this world from dangers he is no longer able to face himself. Because that is what it means to be a paladin, to sacrifice for others.

I don’t know if that’s me, or Lightforge speaking there. Sounds good to me in either voice though.

I’m glad they didn’t give us Frostmourne.

I wish they wouldn’t have given players Doomhammer, Ashbringer or Gorehowl.

Weapons like that lose their coolness factor when everyone and their brother have it.

I don’t use it because it looks terrible, I much prefer that massive sword of light from the argus achievement weapons that also comes in purple.

I more or less say that I’m wielding a replica weapon because I got so used to wielding the real deal.
