Hey all, have acouple questions for the end of the tree for a single target build.
First, Wowhead describes Ashamane’s Guidance as having a “chance on auto attack” to proc 6 seconds of Incarnation, however the tooltip states " Your melee attacks" which makes me think it can proc on ALL melee attacks, such as abilities AND auto attacks and not just the latter? Can anyone clarify?
Secondly, with an emphasis on bleeds and DoTs, with Nurturing Instincts increasing both Moonfire (now used with Lunar Inspiration) and Adaptive Swarm damage, as well as Taste for Blood increasing Ferocious Bite damage with Rake, Thrash (applied via Shred and Thrashing Claws), Rip, and Feral Frenzy by 20%, what about dropping the one point in Carnivorous Instinct, one point in Ashamanes Guidance, one point in Moment of Clarity and one point in Relentless Predator for one point in Dreadful Bleeding, one point in Wild Slashes, one point in Rip and Tear, and one point in Apex Predators Craving. The plus-minus would go:
Lose:
– Extra procs and stack of Omen of Clarity (already stated to have a “high proc” chance base) and 15% extra damage on proc to Shred, Thrash, or Swipe.
–6% damage aura buff increase to Tiger’s Fury
–Chance to proc Incarnation (big difference depending on clarification of HOW this procs, by only auto attacks or ALL melee attacks, and HOW OFTEN it can actually proc, if the chance is truly high enough losing this proc alone nullifies the rest of this swap) on melee attacks.
– 20% less energy spent on Ferocious Bite
And Gain:
–+25% damage to the bleed applied by Shred via Thrashing Claws (in countering the 15% loss on Shred and/or Thrash from Omen)
–+18% overall damage to Rip
–+15% more overall damage from Rip in the form of Tear, which adds ANOTHER bleed to be detailed later.
–A 4% chance every ~1second to cast a free, full combo point Ferocious Bite. This rate was calculated with approximately 19% haste.
You do lose a bit of energy efficiency with the change but while performing against dolls, I found the conpletely free, maximum damage Bite provided by Apex Predators Carving did actually trigger more often than I first believed it would (however this is truly a case by case RNG heavy observation) which was an impressive increase in damage due to 1) Providing an extra, full combo bite for free in the rotation and 2) Gaining the additional 5% damage to each Bite as long as Tear was kept up from the talent. Speaking of Tear:
It hits. Hard. With the additional 18% damage to Rip and the 25% buff when Swarm was up, plus all the additional Rip modifiers (like bloodtalons and SotF , the extra (15% of your total Rip damage ) DoT ticked fast and furious while adding more damage to your Bites.
If things line up with a 5 CP bite into an immediate Apex (5cp) Bite with bleeds from Rake, Thrash(off Shred), Shred (off Berserk:Frenzy) Feral Frenzy, Rip, and Tear with your other modifiers, you’re pushing ALOT of single target burst damage that is very easily maintained and cycled with a pretty easy rotation, dumping all of those crazy-fast generated combo points we have these days in impressive fashion through Bite and Rip cycles. High mastery is a must. Crit and haste are interchangeable and id like to see the build function with a high haste lower crit distribution.
Im not high enough iLvL on the druid yet snd not nearly a good enough feral player in raids to be advocating for the build but with the 8% aura buff from Dire Fixation and the addition of Moonfire, speccing towards a more all in DoT/Bleed build that grants free full power Bites with increased modifiers seemed like enough of something to theorycraft.
Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on all of this compared to the more popular/used Ashamane’s Guidance–Moment of Clarity build currently being used?
Is this worth pursuing at all?
