It looks awful, really a hard miss.
I can’t even see how they imagined this fits the elemental or shaman theme beyond colour matching the hair to the elements.
I’d rather they just pulled this from the patch. I’ll be taking ascendance off my talent spec regardless of my DPS suffering.

I don’t like it. At first i was all for it because i hated the old model so much but once i found out each of the 3 colors is tied to a spec it completely put me off if it.
I play for function not for looks. I actually think it looks pretty sweet.
It’s a cool enough model in and of itself, the problem is that it does not fit shamans at all. People who think it’s a good change just don’t understand or care what is thematically appropriate for the shaman CLASS.
What is this trash model, Blizz?
We appreciate you finally updating it, but do your part and work harder. This is just an unacceptable, outdated Pandaria-style mogu model.
Please re-assign this task to a senior-level character designer.

I honestly can’t see how the design team created this and were like “this is it, perfection, this is what the community wanted, class fantasy at its peak.”
The body isn’t that bad, the head and hair I can’t see how anyone approved it.
Don’t need a weak aura or a target indicator to tell when the shaman popped their CD for sure

Yes the model is obviously much better then what we had. But just give me a lighting aura like dbz and u will get no complaints from anyone. Make it a glyph. This ascended avatar thing just ruins all type of role play or theme.
I rarely comment on the forums, but I had to say something because these models aren’t good. I didn’t know how the old model related to shaman at all, and these are the same. How does a spooky Halloween costume related to shaman? Please try again, these are not good.
Tiqqle on youtube checked it out on the PTR and it’s fine, his male character correctly turned into the male version of the water ascendant.

There is also Traditional that gives you the old ascendance model, which thank god because the new ones look awful. Baseline looks so uninspired, reminds me of man in the iron mask. I certainly don’t like Banshee clown either. So traditional it is.
How hard is it make a cool looking ascendance effect? I’d rather have my actual character ascend rather than become some completely different model. Make me float and have elemental effects around me, easily a hundred times better than these unrelated skins lol.
That is much, MUCH better. I honestly like this a lot more now.
