As The Weeks Tick By Since Blizconline, No PRT or Progress Updates on 9.1

I am still doing ok playing wow. Alt leveling is kind of on hold because right now players are hyper meta focused, and I the grind to 60 and for fresh 60’s is really repetitive. Meaning legendary soul ash and renown. I still am pushing toward KSM and trying to pug AoTC. Making progress there.

But 9.1 just feels like it is so far off. There hasnt really been anything aside from the few screen shots from Blizcon. And from then to now, with nothing, it seems that they were extremely early in the planning and design of 9.1.

I hope I am wrong. But August seems like a decent guess. Anyone else think its a ways out? Or do you feel its sooner than you think?

You’re not gonna see 9.1 till the summer, this game is still broke in many ways, for example:

The fact that they didn’t have any real assets to show from 9.1 was a telltale sign of just how early into development it was at the time.

I suspect the PTR will drop end of March or early April. But then it’s a good 6-8 weeks beyond that before the patch would drop.

I still think there’s a good chance of the PTR starting this month. They said “soon” after 9.0.5 and it really hasn’t even been two weeks yet since then. So we’re still in the realm of soon.

If I’m wrong then I’m wrong, it’s whatever. But if it does start this month then it ought to release around late May or early June. Which is also fits the typical timeframe for the first raid tier to end and the next to start.

Let them fix what needs fixing. I may not be the biggest fan of SL but some tweaking will really do wonders for it.

I think it’ll be awhile. That said, I’d rather they wait and do this right unlike well… everything else so far this expansion.

Yeah its pretty troubling since they said the 9.1 PTR would hit “shortly” after 9.0.5 is released.

My guess is august release as well.

July

9.1 does feel really far away, and it’s kinda killing my vibe.
at Blizzcon they said it’s still in the idea stage, so I’m not expecting anything until end of summer, maybe even September, which is painful.

They are definitely on the back foot so while it won’t be right away after 9.0.5. I suspect it’ll be within 1.5, 2 months before the PTR hits, I suspect the pacing this time around might be longer than BFA even which is kind of a shame.

I have a sinking feeling the ‘content’ delivered will be sub par because of it. I won’t be sticking around 'cause I have no reason to.

I agree with the leveling, and the ‘end game’ is limited for me and the covenant stuff feels very boring that I don’t want to bother with.

Shame.

The whole Blizzcon presentation screamed like a development team that has been months behind schedule. 9.1 is going to be one hell of a broken mess.

The fact that they had nothing but concept art to show at Blizzcon should have made that VERY clear.

9.1 is so far away that the games population will become a ghost town long before its ready.

Yeah I think people are being too optimistic considering the skeletal preview we got at blizzcon.

Well, normally when they announce something is coming they have some short video flythrough of something, shows a bit of gameplay, maybe a few seconds of a boss doing some mechanic… We got Concept art of the dungeon at Blizzcon, and a single screenshot of what the new zone is maybe kind of supposed to look like, with mostly Maw art assets and a generic character model .

IMO… August for a good product with testing and good polish, or June/July for a quick cash-grab. Maybe they will chose to deliver a good patch and improve the game, but I’m guessing Cash Grab.

I’d rather they take their time as opposed to releasing the patch without addressing major issues.

I’ll happily play other games or play TBC until then, but if patch 9.1 comes out and the game is still as empty as it currently is, I just couldn’t justify supporting Blizz anymore until they get their stuff together.

It would be nice if we get some news though, some insight about what they see as issues and how they plan to fix them.

It’ll be out late may/early to mid june, there’s not enough in the game to keep it going longer.

My guess is 9.1 ptr this week

People bring up blizzcon, but we don’t know when that was (so obviously) recorded

Given how little they showed of the new content - just a couple screenshots and pieces of concept art of each of the new areas, and no video - I’m pretty sure 9.1 is still a long way away.

Yea. I think progress updates would go a long way. But that is a double edged sword. If they give progress updates and those show, that 9.1 is still in development and nowhere near any testing, the community will go crazy.

I think they are going to Push Classic BC hard, and ride on that wave till they can launch 9.1

9.1 is probably far away still. I’d bet at earliest June, but more likely July. As “subs” have already cratered I’m not sure what’s going to keep people going for another 2-3 months… or even longer.

BC isn’t even in Beta yet either, so there’s not even anything to fall back on. Blizz is taking a pretty big gamble with stretching out content like this.
