After phase 6 of a classic fresh is 6-8 weeks in, merging the classic fresh servers that won’t be continuing to TBC makes sense and then start new ones a bit later.
Lose the argument, look like an idiot, call troll. Lmao okay dude
Produce something. If all you can do is tear down what you don’t like then the title still fits. Go troll someplace else
I wasnt dumb enough to do it my dude.
There is no possible way having the clones would be a smart idea.
Sorry, but no, Wrath was the bottled lightning. It’s where the money was and is. They’re only slogging through TBC Classic to get to WLTLK Classic. Subscriptions will explode when it comes out, just like they did with the original.
It is where subscriptions were highest they have ever been. While I think it’s fun for them to have vanilla servers, and agree they should continue to have them and should have a few special servers that are on a reset cycle, you are in the minority of the player base.
If you base subscription numbers on what the majority of people actually like and want to play, then vanilla was one of the lowest points. A foundational period, for sure, and I love the nostalgia of it, but, in terms of subs, it’s down there. Granted, we don’t have subscription data past WoD, but the only time subscription numbers dropped back to Vanilla-levels, was toward the end of MoP and during WoD. TBC, Wrath, and even Cata had higher subs than vanilla ever did. And wrath, by far, is what put WoW in popular culture as a phenomenon. Has any game come close to subscription levels like that? I don’t know, but I remember those days at its peak and it was crazy how popular is was. Felt like anyone you met irl was playing it.
Charging for character copies killed vanilla Classic completely, and then announcing FRESH vanilla servers killed the dead corpse of the existing vanilla Classic servers even more.
Wrath just continued TBC’s trend of growth lol
Wrath is also where the game plateaued.
The fastest growth in sub numbers was in fact in vanilla. And TBC added more subs than Wrath did.
Uh… because it started with 12 mil subs from Wrath, yeah. Silly argument. If Cata came now it would have fewer subs than vanilla.
Gonna go ahead and guess you started playing in Wrath.
Shrug We’ll see what happens. And no, I started playing in vanilla. Saying Wrath continued TBCs growth trend really doesn’t change my point. Subs peaked and also stayed pretty consistent at that peak during all of Wrath. We’ll see if my theory is proved out, byt I expect classic wrath is going to be pretty huge. Vanilla was the starting point. It only grew from there. My other point was that folks that want to just sit in vanilla are in the minority of the player base. Proof: Vanilla Classic servers are all ghost towns. Reset them, and you’ll have a small, vocal minority come back for a bit, but everyone else, and all the money that they bring, will be on to the next classic expansion. And you can count on blizzard to follow the money.
So the growth stopped in Wrath. It was unable to continue the trends of growth from vanilla and TBC.
I certainly don’t think Classic Era would be booming or anything, but it would be healthier population if Blizz hadn’t done the two things I mentioned above.
I know. I logged in and couldn’t /who a single soul. I really expected more of us weirdos that love vanilla to stick around. I thought surely everyone had grown out of chasing whatever comes next. It was all downhill from vanilla/bc. I’m just as happy to stay in vanilla. Never loved Outland except for the first time.
I will still never earn Sulfuras or GM now thanks to the losers that abandoned us. =( What server you on? I’ll literally come play with you. It’ll be our world.
They have consolidated the realms into 6 server clusters.
As far as I am aware, the only Fresh Start Realms that are coming are for Wrath of the Lich King Classic.
Did I miss an announcement for fresh start WoW Classic servers?
Nah, just a crap Necro
Yeah I actually copied two of my characters now that server is dead and gone I haven’t even logged into classic vanilla probably a year at least
You’re failing to understand that every server has a finite life cycle, and the period of time they are at their best (high population / lots of groups / robust economy) is a short and fleeting window.
There is a sweet spot somewhere between BWL and the beginning of AQ40 where everything is alive. I saw it in Classic and in SoM. But once AQ20/40 and ZG are stale, servers tend to decline pretty fast. It’s inevitable because people play through the content and move on.
I think if you were able to xfer your legacy character to a fresh server in the AQ/Naxx phases you would be lucky to catch a brief glimpse of what it sounds like you seek. The walls would come tumbling down soon thereafter as people leave in droves either due to burn out or simply because Naxx requires too much from most players.
I’d love to be wrong. If you find Nirvana somewhere, send an invite.
The new servers are Wrath not classic bro. Your gear would be worthless so you might as well reroll anyway. Your character starts at 1 but you just level to 80. You don’t have to do any of the previous content (raids, etc).
There are no new classic servers.
By the time they would allow transfers people would be in NAXX gear from Wrath or arena gear from Wrath and they would destroy you in anything.
Even arena gear from TBC would be far far better than anything you have.
I’m on whitemane and there are people
Where were they? If a year has passed since your last log-in you may be pleasantly surprised.
Classic era is poppin now
‘Poppin’ may not be the word I use to describe it but I can confirm there has been a steady trickle of growth happening this past month, even on my backwater cluster.
I think Atiesh
Its not a new fresh classic server its fresh servers for the release of wrath that u will play wrath. So if u arent interested in tbc why would you want to transfer to these realms?
Also if u cloned your character to a bc realm then u have access already to what the new fresh servers will be.
If u want to start fresh reroll then.
