Well, I’m sure they’ll open a server like that if there is enough interest.
Just like the tournament server, and so on and so forth.

So many things could happen between now and then.
But, you must understand that, maxing out your main toon is not the end of the game. Many play for the social aspect, and will hangout in one of the main cities, just to chat and sell product (whatever their profession is).
This is also a time for many to start lvling alt toons. This could actually go for a few years easy before a “reset” might be needed.
Although, I think that, when or if it happens, it would be cool to see a few new servers added, and half of them would be Classic, to get the restart that many might enjoy, and the other half be TBC, as I’m sure many would like to see that also.
Maybe offer TBC on a few realms that already exist, so players could continue the journey from 60 to 70, and others could restart if that is what they desire.
Just a thought.
Anyway, Blizzard has time to figure out what and how they want to proceed from here. Hopefully, there will be a lot of player input on it also.
Lets enjoy these classic servers for a while, why are people so concerned about what happens after phase 6 ><, just be excited we have the opportunity to relive this amazing version of the game!
I always thought WoW should do a “progression” server, where the xpacs were released every 3-4 months until it catches up to retail, and then they give free xfers off of that realm to any release realm, and after 2 weeks of that, they wipe the server and start over. It would be the best method of getting people to try Retail, rather than these silly “instant 110” boosts.
I mean, they WON’T, but…
God no.
This as an option, no problem. All severs, f off.
Again, you need to actually make a case, not just repeat “how can people think I’m wrong? Tell me why you think I’m wrong!” over and over.
I would venture that everyone you’ve been arguing with would not play if you had your wish and the servers were declared going to reset in two years. I sure wouldn’t. And “This person and this person and this person won’t play as a result, with no corresponding people who will play as a result” is actual evidence that something’s a bad idea, whereas your inability to imagine a morepig that doesn’t change is only evidence that you have a poor imagination and accept your own inability to picture something as proof that it cannot exist.
Yes and no. The way you mean it, mostly no.
The goal for me is to be able to play my characters on my Classic servers in two years, five years, ten, twenty. That goal is immediately defeated if the server is no longer authentically Classic and that goal is immediately defeated if Blizzard deletes my characters as part of a “reset.”
The goal for you, apparently, is to be able to point and say, “Look, something called Classic is still up!” That goal would still be defeated if you got the changes you wanted because Blizzard wouldn’t keep them up after your awful ideas had driven everyone off, but you can throw tons of rhetoric at how the opposite is the case and not support anything.
#Nochanges
Releasing fresh servers every 2-3 years? No problem. Wiping out all my progress on my existing server? Fel no!
Its quite simple roll the existing servers to TBC just like they originally did, and make new fresh vanilla servers, let players decide where they wanna go.
But I don’t want fresh and I don’t want TBC I want my server to stay 1.12 classic FOREVER. I want to have the time to play through ALL the Classic content at my pace.
I do not think I am alone in that.
you can always delete your characters every season sure
Weird it’s almost like while the exsiting servers shouldn’t reset because of people like you, there would also be a market for people who servers to reset.
Just make it clear up front what kind of server it is and everyone can be happy.
I agree the plan as I understood it from the classic QAs and posts was these server will never change, get new content or move to TBC. future TBC servers and new content are options but would be on new servers.
I endorse both those options like you said as long as it’s made clear when joining those servers. the whole reason I was hyped for classic was to be able to ‘complete’ my characters in Classic not move on or reset.
You…guys realize this isn’t Diablo right? Where you can be decked in a couple days (D3) or couple weeks (D2) if you know what you’re doing.
There’s no way they will perform any kind of resets as i highly doubt much anyone would play “season 2”.
They have a roadmap for a couple years already, beyond that nobody knows but i highly doubt a full reset will be in the cards. They’ll either add some Classic+ content (aka content beyond Naxx) or move the game into TBC.
Oh? Would there? Who would be in it? Would you, Ziryus?
One thing I’ve never seen, including this thread, is anyone saying, “I want the server I’m on to reset. I want my characters deleted after two years.” It’s always this “for the health of the game, because a morepig that doesn’t change is incomprehensible” load.
Blizzard will definitely open new servers after all content has been out for a while
Naxx killed real vanilla and every private server a few months after release every single time.
I just want “fresh start” servers every 1-2 years. Not server resets, but brand new servers to play on.
hmmmm…idk about anything OP states…seasonal resets are going to be a huge nope…you take away every incentive to do things over again, what happens in PoE does not correlate anywhere near to WoW
Haters gonna hate.
I’ve never said every server should be reset. All I’ve said is that if there were a server or two with scheduled resets people would play on them.
That would obviously mean those servers would need to be clear up front about resets and wouldn’t include launch servers.
