I actually found it more helpful on my healer than on my DPS. I can figure out the healers ok, but if you’re in a healer and running it it throws a message to other DPS on your team also running it that you’re being attacked. Helps with getting a peel or two lol.
It also used to identity classes with high self healing as healers so be careful of that.
Years ago I’d agree with you. However, this xpac was easy to deal with a twink or two if you had heirloom enchanted gear. It was the premade groups which caused issues.
Man I left to go sleep last night and this dude made a twink thread for someone having a blast doesn’t seem that way

This is perpetually a problem when communication doesn’t happen. If I’m lead, I mark our healers and call out their healers by name before the match starts so the team knows who to focus for both peels and death. More often than not, matches are won if this is done, even against “twinks”. The boomchicken in the top post was an easy take-down, all you had to do was kill his heals.
I’m sure I’m an outlier with this opinion, but situations like the boomchicken with pocket heals trying to run the BG made things spicy. Ensuring that he was put in check by putting his heals in check was a challenge that made the BG fun for me.

Cheers to this!
And I have to say after watching the vid again. Plenty of time and not even a tiny bit of communication or trying. No druids sneaking off to grab the flag to distract them away from the GY. No coordinated rezing. No running past them and body rezing.
There is nothing at all just ‘oh no we give up D:’ and likely from the very start.
I am seeing this more often now than I did. It does seem that people just want to roll over the team instead of a good fight without trying to put some thought into their pvp.
Seems a lot of people who only pvp for experience don’t really want to BG. They just want to run around kill some people and get a win that way. That’s not how BGs work.

There is nothing at all when you are a 19 rogue to killing a level 10 or 11, one button and dead, nothing fun about that regardless of whether it is a premade group or an individual. No skill, just pure gear and the opening advantage.
You are entitled to your opinion of course but things like that should never have been allowed into the game, what a turnoff for anyone new to PvP and leveling.
It’s the same now at that level. Enchanted heirlooms and gear in the other spots and you’ve got the same effect over others who aren’t geared.
but i still do this and more with xp on after seperation?
dissposable twinks boiii
or anyone willing to put a few thousands gold and like 30 mins into their gear

Pretty sure I just watched a guy with two pocket healers where all of alliance rezzed and one guy shot the monk once.
Can’t really say that’s a gear difference.
Like juga said, everyone just gave up instead of any semblance of cohesive play. I play a healer, and was able to punish full teams like this with a warrior buddy leveling up (we’d make sure we were getting obj too - normally funneling gy on 5 cap an or 3 cap gilneas). Really all it took was like 1-2 people trying to kill me (the healer) to force us back. But everyone just hits the thing in front of them. No back capping. No stealth play. No walk-revives. I have a paladin I’ve geared through only quests, with no heirlooms (you just shouldn’t be allowed to queue until 15 btw. The gear until then without heirlooms and dungeon gear is trash at best) and have dealt with gy camps. It takes one guy to grab the flag and force people away from gy. Or you long walk above the gy and Rez on the ledge (about 30s run anyways). Lots of stuff you can do other than just afk dead with OBS recording your team being silly.
Don’t get me wrong there are some class balance and item availability issues, but that’s on blizzard. People shouldn’t be punished for optimizing their characters at any point in the game. If anything optimizing your character should be promoted, since in end game that’s what you should be doing anyeays.

Sure it’s not gear difference, and just ignore the other twinks around about him. Cohesive gameplay in a random pickup bg? No grouping? Sure.
(you just shouldn’t be allowed to queue until 15 btw.

Why? People pay their sub to play the game. What difference does 15 make at that low a level?
Yeah end game we are not even near end game in those bgs.
I have leveled to (currently) 70 doing bgs. I used to play pretty “hardcore” as a mythic raider, but most of that time was spent progressing the 2-3 characters at Max level to keep them relevant (with warforging and that stuff).
Gear does make a difference, but what I witnessed wasn’t JUST gear. So I couldn’t tell you from that video alone that it was gear or if it was gameplay tactics (no focus on healers, zerging the one guy getting pocketed with no spread pressure, etc.)
Tying into gear does make a difference, I have also been leveling a self founded, no heirloom geared toon and the gear you get before dungeons are available is terrible, with no secondaries and if you’re lucky they are at least greens. Dungeon finder doesn’t open up until 15 anyways. Just slap them together. Don’t take away the queue option, just make it so people pre-15 have to go to a BG guy in org (just like you can run to a dungeon early). Those 5 levels, especially for new players leveling through quests, does make a difference.
Also your argument of “people pay their sub” would kind of also work for gy camping right? It’s too vague of a rebuttal imo to build a real debate with.
And saying “it’s not even close to max level” doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be working on your character, rotations, macros, keybinds, etc. If you say it doesn’t matter than you are taking a lazy approach to the situation and therefore are knowingly letting people outperform you because you don’t care.
Now I have knowingly tried and am optimizing a character as a “new” player (as said above) and there are some glaring issues with pre-30s, but it’s on blizzards end for class balance, and there isn’t anything we can do about boomkins having insane DoT scaling and Healers being all but uninterruptible.
Listen, I feel gy camping can ruin a experience. So can wiping on the same boss in raid 250 times.
Maybe it’s when I started that makes me feel that players are pretty spoiled these days. There is easily accessible leveling/PvP enchants for cross-account gear. The max level is a bit high, but the leveling optimization is 500x better than it used to be. You can casually level to 120 over a couple weeks doing dungeons and some quests.
I feel bad in bgs when there is a huge difference but when it’s at no fault of the players. Rather than complain about twinks or non twinks, people should be addressing blizzards poor balancing of the game, at all stages of the game. Like you said, we all pay a sub (gold is $20/mo even!) [Except f2p but I’m not gonna get into my issues with them].
Push for class balance, maybe some specific item (Rammstein’s bolt), enchants (ele force and crusader), and classes (druids, mm hunters), item availability/quality (why do so many vanilla items have no secondaries, why can’t we get helms and trinkets earlier since they are now so accessible with heirlooms, why isn’t there more quests that reward gear?).
Again, maybe it’s me, but if a level 10 tried to fight a level 19 the 19 used to do crushing blows. I wouldn’t even bother PvPing until x7/8/9 and would use the gear I got from x0-6 to put me on a more even playing field.
P.S. my “new player” paladin fairs just fine in most bgs utilizing team play. The downside is ret is pretty much garbage until later (mid) levels. That’s a class balance thing on blizzard imo.
