As others have stated all doing rated PvP should do is allow you to cap faster.
High end PvPer’s don’t care about outgearing players, they just want PvP gear to be BiS.

Uhh we had even gear from MoP - WoD. No rating requirement on it. Not sure what you’re on about or if we’ve even been playing the same game.
Everyone could end up at the same ilvl, even from doing random bgs if you wanted to cap that way. Or Ashran etc.

If gear doesn’t matter jugga, then who has the gear shouldn’t matter.
Just because you have the gear doesn’t mean anything and a victory vs an undergeared opponent gives no satisfaction.

Maybe they should make pvp gear something like GW2 1 item with a bunch of stats.
With higher ilvl depending on rating, exactly as we have it now. You do know they aren’t going to nerf pve gear in randoms, and not going to make random BG gear bis, so at least rated pvp should be on par with pve gear.
Yea, they experimented and didn’t like it, that much is obvious.
What we have is insulting right now. Saying that m+ 15 clearing it (not timing it) goves you the same ilvl gear as someone who is 2400+.

The color, mount and title is plenty for top end pvpers to say they are better. When you start dipping into 3 different tiers of power creep, it makes everything feel like garbage imho.

I don’t actually care if you give them anything at all as long as they end up on an equal playing field when in the game. Whether that’s by gear/scaling/templates I don’t really care. Since we’re getting vendors back though, that’s the direction the feedback is going to be in.
Templates I wouldn’t want unless they added a UI that let you adjust secondary stats though. The legion method wasn’t great for some specs but the equalizing aspect would be fine.

zero for a loss, sit afk and watch a movie and win one in ten is apparently worth it to some, they’ve done it forever, same type that collected pogs but weren’t even aware it was a game and had rules…or buy ratings and achievements, or farm old content one shotting bosses…and taking pride in it? lol Special olympics medalists.
It’s wild how many people want a gear advantage in something that’s supposed to be competitive. I guess people forget the wild gatekeeping 2200 weapons had. What a fun engaging system.

Not wrong at all. It’s an actual travesty how people think that should be a thing in a competitive environment. Most of us who are capable of earning the gear that rating reqs would provide don’t want it. We just want to have a fair environment for everyone.
