If we’re talking about optimal rotation for max dps, then no, it shouldn’t even be on your action bars. It does pretty much no damage and has no synergies with demo spells and talents.
In any other case, play however you feel comfortable.

Corruption becomes obsolete if you choose a spec other than Aff.
You can safely ignore it.

Everyone is telling you to not put it on your bars.
One things to be clear on, this is true on PvE. In PvP it has applications. Prevents restealths mainly which is niche, but a thing.

I haven’t seen this even once. Corruption is instant cast only if you’re Affliction and Demo has better options to prevent restealths.

Yeah, it just isn’t a thing lol.
I even pulled up some random Demo arena player streams just to see and not one of them had Corruption on their bars.
Nobody is hard casting Corruption to “prevent restealth”
You either get locked out of Shadow or you just wasted a GCD. Those are the only outcomes.

Pretty sure that’s what Demo used to use Doom for.
I had corruption on my action bar and I still forgot I had it. It’s not really a good ability for demos, thing does tickle damage.

With how broken stealth is (mainly for rogue), even using it for that hasn’t felt impactful lately
Corruption needs a function. It extending curses should be baseline or in the class tree
Haven’t used it once as demo since it got brought back.
Corruption is in your spellbook because its a spell you learn before picking a spec, as such, you keep it in your spellbook even as demonology instead of having an aneurism and forgeting every time you swap specs from affliction something else.
As for the use, no, its dps loss to cast corruption as demonology, it would also be a dps loss if it was instant cast because demonology have a lot of power across its shadowbolt as its a soul shard generator.
And i think it should be that, i prefer demonology without corruption in the rotation.
i dont use it, i take it off my bars altogether. If it was instant cast, perhaps, but nah don’t use it fam.
