Exposure was able to be attained long before social media came along and ruined discourse globally by turning the opposition from “someone who has different methods to better the nation” to “person on the far {side} that only wants to violently push their incompetent leader into power”.

Again, long before the internet was even a concept motivated people were able to organize and mobilize without having the message hijacked by manipulative actors, without opportunists knowing their plans and using their protests to riot and loot, and without having sympathy feeding clout chasers type out meaningless platitudes of support because they want attention.
SM has done positives, like organizing the Arab Spring however it is a net negative. Especially in the west.

Reread the statement if you cannot understand it, instead of the kneejerk reaction of insulting something I probably didn’t say.
Case in point, I didn’t say social media is “hijacked”, I said that the message of well meaning protesters was.
The Civil Rights movement.
No hashtag, no burning cities, no warped message. Just dedicated driven people enacting real positive change for their fellow man in the face of injustice, despite how hard it would be and how long it would take.
I’d hardly call it a war, but I’m just one person.

I agree with non-violence. I think all SM does is facilitate information, and what’s at risk is fake news and misinformation. Which would then make it important to build a society that values verification instead of reacting off things based on gut-instinct.

Quoting wikipedia, and having a first hand account are two intensely different things.
Like who instigated what, who destroyed what, and how many murders were recorded as killings in self defense.
But assuming that Wikipedia is gospel and none of the records were manipulated to make one group of people look worse to justify escalation, you picked one word out of a full statement and called the entire thing incoherent.

Why can’t there just be one Megathread on this topic and not like 20 topics like in the past week. Blizzard doesn’t remove any of them, but if there was a thread opposing it, it would be removed within the hour.
Maybe your ideas would be taken more seriously by the community, if you didn’t spam the forums with these threads.

How many times does it need to be said before people actually get it?
Expressing happiness with a feature added to the game is not even remotely the same as a thread causing more harm by casting a negative light on it.
One is not causing you, or anyone else that may disagree with it, any harm. The other is reinforcing systemic oppression.
If Blizzard were to remove threads just because it’s repeating what other threads have already stated, the forums wouldn’t exist because 90% of the posts on here are an echo chamber.
Again, your selective outrage is showing and it’s not a pleasant look.
The threads I’m referring to aren’t only “expressing happiness with a feature”. The majority of them are asking for ridiculous things, several of them are just troll threads. But because they include “LGBT” in them, they don’t get removed.

Why would they get removed? Are they doing something that’s harming others? Your prerogative doesn’t make sense, especially when you consider that this is an open forum where people are literally encouraged to voice their requests, no matter how ridiculous it may be.

Modifying the game to make a certain class of people feel “at home” is unacceptable to me. This is the World of Warcraft, period. I’m sure there are other games out there that are already setup in such a way as to make you feel happier playing them. Leave contentious IRL issues out of the game. The barbershop changes, while as much as you want them to have been done out of a trans motivation, were not done for anything but to expand options, that’s it.
