As a paying customer, I'm asking you to please put Legion rep-gated Allied Race Unlocks in the Shop in 8.1

Hello,

I would dearly love to play a void elf and it was one of the things that piqued my interest in BFA, not realizing that you needed to go play a pile of stuff in the previous expansion to unlock them.

I am simply asking, that in 8.1, can we please put the Legion based Allied Races in the Shop and assign a dollar value to them, I’d happily pay a fee to unlock Void Elves, so would a VERY large number of other players who simply don’t have the time on hand to grind out all of the reputation from an expansion that’s no longer current content, I’m sure that plenty of Horde players feel the same way about their allied races that are presently dependent upon reputation with factions from the previous expansion.

We can to pretty much everything else, change factions, races, appearance, all sorts of things.

It seems odd to put them behind a grind and time-gate in a previous expansion that we’re not playing, I didn’t re-sub to spend weeks mindlessly grinding rep with a 120 character for hours upon hours on end, it’s just … silly.

For allied races that are relevant to BFA, happy to have to work out the rep for them and them not to be in the shop, as they require rep with factions in the ‘current’ expansion.

Nope. It’s not difficult to earn them and this isn’t a free to play game where you get to cheese your way through content by buying stuff.

Learn their stories, earn their complete trust, recruit them. That’s what you do with allies.

As a paying customer I’m asking you to please not make any changes to the allied race requirements.

Well they were released last expansion. So its not too crazy to go back and do them if you want them.

Think of it like farming mogs out of old raids.

As a paying customer I politely demand that the next store mount be a fire breathing Tyrannosaurus Rex with Gatling guns, rocket launchers, & a jet pack attached.

It took a couple weeks to go from Neutral to Exalted with Arguassian. Bonus rep for WQ is coming soon, can do it faster.

Not sure how much luck you will have with this petition. Maybe down the track they might make it an option but I doubt it would be any time soon.

Please tell me this thread isnt real. lol. WORK FOR THEM LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! I am honestly tired of seeing threads like this. Just because you want them and you’re a bit late compared to everyone else that actually worked to get them, doesn’t mean you can act like you’re entitled to getting them basically for free. They are NOT that hard to get. If you really want them, then make that your goal. Don’t beg blizzard to just hand them out to you. It doesn’t work like that.

And remember, the rep is cross faction, so if you Get exalted with your horde toon, you also unlock the alliance toon Allied races. I was pleasantly surprised when I rolled my Worgen for BFA and saw the VE and LD were already waiting for my hugs.

Void Elves & Lightforged Dranei are the easiest since you can just cheese the Argus quests at 120 and most quests were hotfixed to give rep for both. The Horde ones are a bit more difficult since you don’t get 3 zones to blitz through, but are still easy and shouldn’t take you too long.

Correct. Lightforged were even faster. The unlock quest was funny.

The precedent this sets would be outrageous, especially if the Legion races sold well.

I agree they should unlock them for new players, I already got them and don’t care but the fact is I still see them advertised as the main selling point. The game was on sale recently and I saw a BFA banner that advertised the play as a void elf. It just said some crap like get into the Battle for Azeroth and play as the new allies of the horde and alliance and it had void elfs and dranei on one side and tauren and orcs on the other. I mean new players don;t expect that to mean ohh btw you gotta grind them out for a month everyday before you can even start leveling them. Its dumb at this point.

I am in genuine awe of how many people think the allied race system is fine as it is. At no point ever should an aesthetic character creation option require content done on a different character.
I should never have to play the game a single minute to choose a specific race, hair style, face, anything whatsoever, provided I pay for the game.
Your character is the absolute most important part of the game - it is the medium you will experience all content through. It should not function conversely that you must first experience content to create your preferred character.

It is precisely why I have not spent a single dime on blizzard product since the rep-gate announcement during legion. It is poop game design and frankly insulting to players.

Or make it faster. I’ve heard a couple times that old expansion rep will be increased but cannot find proof.

Increasing the reputation gained for Legion allied races in 8.1 so its a lot easier to unlock. Don’t be lazy and do the much easier work to unlock them.
