As a gold-only paying player, I should get the mounts from subbing for free the same way I get RAF rewards

I want that murloc mount but it’s quite literally impossible for me to get. I can’t pay with money, but I have paid with gold since the token was implemented. My game time has been consistent since I was able to pay with gold and I play nearly every single day. The difference? My gold isn’t seen as worthwhile as someone who locks themselves into a sub for a year. I have to pay more for store mounts even though I’m playing and paying as much as you all who have reoccuring subs are. Why can’t the system that the RAF system uses be used for people who sub with tokens?

Edit: Let me be 100% transparent, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I’m buying 12 months subscription. I would like to ensure my play experience is exceptional before buying in.

The entire reason they are doing this offer is so they can lock people into many months of paid subscription presuming the expansion doesn’t click with them. It’s definitely riding the hype of the expac launch when people are likely to be more excited.

People may unsub after 4 months in a content drought, then resub 6 months after that. This is blizzard ensuring they have a constant lock in of 12 months.

This mount is not free, this mount is strategy.

And I think, since I’ve had an auto renewal going since 2008, I’ve shown enough loyalty to receive every sub mount offered after I remain subbed during that time.

Where’s my been subbed without interruption for a decade epic mount? How about you reward your truly loyal players?

I agree but you helped support wod.

Gold-only players are essentially Blizzard contract employees without being contract employees.

You are providing gold for players who spend money on tokens. Blizzard doesn’t make any money directly from you, they only make money from you farming gold and trading that gold for a token.

I’m not sure if you’re familiar with those old time mining towns, but in those towns, the employer paid the employee in currency to be used in the town at the stores the mining company owned.

That’s you. You’re being paid by Blizzard in Bnet balance to be used at their store(s) because to them you are a contract employee. You’re not a customer anymore, you’ve transitioned.

The old saying of “If you are not paying for the product, then you are the product” is true here. Your labor of farming gold is the product that Blizzard is offering to token buyers.

I bought a 6 month only to get jebaited with this rugpull pre-patch. Definitely not doing that again, and definitely not doing a 12 month. Blizzard has way too much power to undermine our experience in the span of a few months, let alone an entire year.

That said, your mileage may vary. If people want to buy a 12 month sub, that’s their prerogative.

Agree been sub in forever over 16 years now we shouldnt have to commit to 1 year sub to get rewards. Its total BS

They should make the mount always available that way so people can save some $$$ for it imo. As its a big expense for a virtual good. But if you have the spare income right now its still a weird purchase unless you know you will be subbed for that long.

If it was always there then it could be used as an always there gift option imo.

You actually bring in more revenue than someone paying cash, so this makes total sense.

You can buy all the mounts in the store with gold anyway. 15$ store credit per token.

It’ll be in the shop. You can use gold to buy it.

Can’t buy it right now. Check the store.

So wait until the mount hits the store like every other mount has and buy it with gold turned into bnet balance.

Patience. In time it will be. Maybe more than 25 though.

Yes, it will be there soon! Everyone who doesn’t buy the bulk sub will still be able to buy the mount, even the gold-only players. Why would Blizzard turn down money?

you are a grown up, you “don’t” have to pay for anything that you don’t want.

If I’m paying for a sub time just as much as or more than the average player, I should see the same benefits.

Don’t ignore this line, it’s the important part.

Lots of entitlement and demands up in this piece.

No wonder Blizzard stop listening to these awful demands.

this is not the government, this is business and a product for sale

They do new mount packs and stuff like this when they want to see lump sum cash payments for specific paperwork goals. The mounts is nothing to do with what you want as a player, they are something highly specific and will be whatever they need to be to achieve an end. Asking for their workhorse products to be some kinda way is a waste of breath.
