As a crafter, I need to be able to post crafting orders for purchase

Hi, the #1 issue for me with the current crafting order system is that I spend upwards of 30 mins explaining to a potential (not definate) buyer how to order something. I have absolutely no simple and direct way to link what I can make in chat. The old professions link doesn’t work for a new system. Titan matrix’s are a fine example of how the CO system is failing. Nobody understands what they are. So rather than learn “How to craft,” crafting being something they didn’t want to do in the first place, they gear up in different ways. I bet if you check the numbers, titan matrix’s are being deleted rather than used. I know some folks have suggested social systems to link players that can make what you want more accessable, but for me that’s not a solution if I’m playing on my LW when someone is looking for a JC.
In my opinion, the only fix is to allow crafters (you know, the players that want to learn how crafting works) to post crafting orders for sale. For example, I put all my knowledge into shields. I should be able to post a crafting purchse order for a shield I can make at a given level. I need to be able to say in that order form you need this level mats and this level titan matrix for this level item in a quick easy order form for people to use. I should be able to list a price with that order representing my commission, material cost, etc.
I’ve had to listen to players who blame crafters for not making their orders for items that aren’t even available in game yet. How can any market system work where buyers just randomly make purchse orders and post them. Sellers need to offer a purchase order first, and then buyers can contact the seller to discuss alternative prices, material levels and item levels. Anyway this is how I see this crafting order system working in the future.
I’ve blown so much gold on this new system and seen absolutely no return for my investment, because even you guys in developement don’t seem to understand this system. Please LISTEN to the crafters in your game. Because if the system isn’t corrected, and you just keep tossing band-aids to make your numbers look better on crafting order usage, you are going to lose players, and the system of crafting will die in game.
Thank you,

I made a thread about this already suggesting blizzard needs to put a video on the launcher explaining where to make a work order, how to make a work order and how the quality of mats affect the outcome and got trolled. People who don’t advertise have no clue how little people know about this system.

People who buy stuff on the auction house often don’t even have professions so they don’t even know where to go.

sure you can - you can link the entire profession or whatever you specialize in. I was ahead on the profession equipment for awhile and I linked all the items I could make right on trade and I would usually get a few people asking or ordering each time.

Agreed, crafting is a bit confusing and seems to be too complicated.

Can confirm. Took one look at the work order menu, noped out, and went right back to mythics instead to turn my brain off.

I can probably figure it out but I just don’t care to. I imagine im that average gamer in this regard.

as one of the major elemental lariat crafters in oce , i went from typing everything thing and explaining everything with every diff situation to becoming a robot and just macroing 90% of my responses etc. until a macro didnt cover a response i hardly type.

after 4000 orders in one week it gets tiring. they need to add a profile or browse crafter page in the crafting order menu with some of stuff mentioned above.

the biggest and most annoying culprit is the minimum order quality button. this needs to be removed from personal orders already. as 90% of people who dont know how to order thinks it guarantees them that quality

And that would be a great solution, except people who just want to buy a crafted item basically don’t want to learn crafting to buy an item. I have spent uncounted hours over the years making material lists that I could copy and paste to in game mail so buyers could better undestand what materials were needed for an item. Especially in Shadowlands where the ccrafting linking system for chat never worked propperly.
The new system just needs to work both ways. Buyers and crafters need to bit be able to post sales and POs.

it does guarantee them that quality in my experience if you have enough skill - I really don’t understand your comment on this. You can’t accept an order with a min unless you can make it at that min

elemental lariat cannot be guaranteed at R5 not matter what once infused unless using an insight. max skill is like 351 , min for 405 is 360 , 380 for 418

have to rely on proc or insights. but it doesnt take that into account so greys out the crafting button

the min quality button is a good system but should be put on public orders not personal. cos unless you know someone is that profession or referred to them you wont know to order off them

more to R5 than what you are indicating.

In any case, the system won’t let you accept a min R5 order

Anyway the buyer needs some protection with personal orders so I think that min needs to stay.

Ive been playing wow for a long time, ive never been confused by mew systems, but placing and filling orders??? Ummm what??? Blizzard did a really poor job explaining how the system works.
I’ve watched youtube videos on it, and I still don’t fully understand it, and im not some old set in my ways wow only gamer. I play tons of different games over mant differenr genres and systems, and ive neber struggled to understand anything like i do this new crafting system , especially on how to place and fill orders.

i can accept the min R5’s but cant click said craft button so have to cancel and decline it. but as i state with the elemental lariat ( different story for other items ) at least the skill for infused R5 is higher than you can get even at max specced skill points. the system doesnt take into account proc chance and considering you get what maybe 5 insights a week 90% of lariat orders cannot be guaranteed at 5* , i know how the system works.

That’s awesome that you have been so successful in sales with the necklace. And thank you for your comment. My next comment isn’t about you.
That RNG neclace plan makes it so any noob with the pattern can learn basic jewel crafting and make bank while serious crafters are left teaching the system and losing gold.
A completely different yet also important issue with the new crafting system.

yes so the person wanting the item needs to know they aren’t going to get a R5 guaranteed.

I am doubtful you know how the system works when you don’t mention everything that goes into skill.

And they put the crafting order board in random places like in Oh Plains lol why they didn’t set up shop by the auction house is beyond me.

I think they are fixing the drop rate on that - so more people will be able to get into that market.

There is a CO building just below the AH in the main city.
But yeah it should be in the actual AH.
Or at the crafting stations themselves.
Or both, maybe all 3, lol.

I didn’t know they even had them out there - I just use the one on the lower level in the city which I think is also on the lower level than the AH. I just use my mount so have forgotten where that is.

All auction houses should have a crafting order board on a wall inside the auction house.

I wanted to get into crafting once again and thought this all was neat-o ideas but it’s such a niche thing that will have more people just look at what is needed for an order and just go to the auction house instead.

Now upcoming changes will let the buyer reject an order etc…

I feel all these things will be pushing away the common crafter. It’s unfortunate.

It’s actually quite simple if you just post all your crafted items into the AH.

The issue is that you crafters want to make extra tips via crafting orders. Trust me, the amount of time and effort you spend explaining to the buyer is not worth it for a 50-100g tip.

TLDR: Post your goods on AH. Most of us don’t use the crafting order system.
