What patch is wrath classic on? Just wondering.
Retail players need to go back to where they came from instead of trying to turn OUR Classic into another Retail.
No, you’re not speaking their language. Blizz is a corporation with shareholders. All they care about is profits. By catering to the majority of people (whom the majority of that have little time to waste when they are able to play), Blizz is keeping more subs and the resulting revenue that is flowing in.
glad to see that the best thread on the forums is still going! As a Community, we do not want RDF!
go to retail
The majority is anti-RDF, they would love MORE money by not catering to US.
Clearly people want RDF back, stop trolling.
RDF doesn’t replace LFG. It allows players to spontaneously queue up for a dungeon they need to do. If you think you’re gonna miss out on tanks and heals in LFG that will opt to use RDF then ask your friends to re-roll and help them level. You have friends and guildies you’re fine, other people don’t so they need a public tool to do content.
So far LFG has been a success for only my tanks and healers, but my dps need RDF, because they simply don’t get selected to do the dungeons.
Then Classic is NOT the game for you, MMOs in general require building Community and forming bonds. If you are not capable of that, then there are many lobby based games that will fit your needs.
I did sanctum heroic with a guild. I got ksm on my own mostly, but my guild helped me too. I’m social enough. I have a bunch of people on my friends list that I do arenas with in retail. RDF would let people into content while their friends are offline.
You realize that anti-social people and younger kids are being gate kept by people like you and blizzard’s notion of removing RDF.
I need RDF for my dps. My tanks and healers can use LFG just fine.
Gatekeeping and elitism are not the same thing.
Gatekeeping is stuff like attunements, raid lockouts, daily/weekly caps, level restrictions, etc.
Gatekeeping is a buzz word created to divide our Community, there is NO Gatekeeping in Classic.
Give me one example of gatekeeping.
And I don’t need RDF for MY DPS, even on a Mega Server I can EASILY find groups.
Are you his alt account? Classic is incredibly toxic right now with people requiring full on SWP gear for content.
This is the second time today that I have been accused of being two different people’s alts. This is an ad hominem attack and is meaningless. But no, I am not. I am simply clarifying what the word gatekeep actually means. What people in this thread really mean is elitism, not gatekeeping.
Do you even know the definition of those 2 words? Doesn’t sound like you do.
Gatekeeping: the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something.
Elitism (from the wowwiki, as it’s more specific to gaming): A rather derogatory term for a player that, though is seen as a good player and has high-end gear that has several Achievements and raid experience, believes that those below them are “noobs” that do not know how to play the game the proper way, though it’s only their definition of what the “proper way” is.
Refusing low dps or badly geared people doesn’t stop them from doing the content generally, it stops them from joining specific groups. That, by definition, is not gatekeeping. I also provided several examples of actual gatekeeping.
The point he’s trying to make is that refusing people is a form of gatekeeping, they can go form their own group but that’s not the point. Just the fact that a good portion of the available groups decline people based on gear itself is pure toxicity. New players and people just coming back will be turned off by that, hence why RDF solves it by giving everyone a chance to play.
I don’t need RDF to play, but others do. You gotta wrap your head around the fact that there are other people that play the game with language/mental barriers that can’t succeed in the social aspect of the game. They won’t be able to raid, at least let them have their dungeons. I’ll still mainly use LFG, but RDF is needed for those people.
I also think they should allow pre-mades for pvp, because as players we can opt out of facing them if we so choose so it’s not that much of an issue. Blizzard should just let streamers play with a full group of viewers so more viewers get a chance to play with their favorite streamers.
So your solution is to force them into groups with other people who also don’t want to play with them to begin with? How is forcing social interaction supposed to benefit either party??
We do NOT need RDF, we legit have been FINE with LFG for this long and it should remain the ONLY method of finding Groups.
Yes, the point is just wrong by definition because that’s not gatekeeping. As you said, there are other options like making your own group, you just dismiss them with no valid reason.
Queue you refusing to accept a definition because your opinion (which is wrong, because it’s based off a misunderstanding of the word) is more valid.
They opt in to RDF and should expect anything. Someone can just pull mobs and wipe the group over and over, you can vote kick or leave the group it’s not an issue. We have alts.
