Im one of these random dungeon finder enjoyers. I have been using the new group finder as the primary method of levelling in wotlk classic.
Why do i like dungeon finders? When I get off of work, I dislike spending more time spamming chat looking for a party than playing the content. Simple as. I can do questing with RDF ect ect.
After hitting 70 just before the buzzer, I am impressed with the functionality of the group finder, I seem to have settled into a group of regulars, which is an amazing result tbh.
Its one of the few times I can say blizzard fixed a real problem with real decent results.
I would be 1000% ok with this system replacing retail RDF, if only they made retail interesting to play again i guess.
Just my two cents. I know people love the convenience and set and forget of the RDF so they can quest during slow dungeon times. The new system works exactly the same, only you can pick and choose, creating “regulars” and social bonds. Its a perfect solution. Easy to form groups just pick from the list based on past experience ect ect ect. Its solid.
This is massive Copium. They deleted ALL RDF achievements the other day as well, the only way you’ll see RDF is on Retail and in your dreams.

The best part about all this is that addon developers are already developing stand-in RDF addons anyway, and given that the entire premise of LFG was built around the fact that a player developed an addon that became defacto-required anyway, chances are so will this.
Unfortunately for you, my position is supported by evidence, while yours is supported by loud voices; to wit: yours.
It may return after ICC just like in retail or maybe it won’t. It’ll depend on who is still playing the game then if the demand is there. It’s highly likely that a lot of the folks (myself included) who are ramping up for wrath classic will exit for retail when dragon flight hits. If the Remainers are vocal for rdf to stay dead, then it will surely.
I love it when someone pumps up their self importance enough to believe “they” represent the majority that they assume supports them.
Edit - THis entire post is OP feeling threatened by RDF coming and making this post like lashing out at their closet monster. Its a coping mechanism.

What evidence? When I log in I don’t see RDF, when I see the Classic Dev’s tweets I see support for anti-RDF.

It won’t, if it did have a chance then that chance is gone as they recently removed ALL RDF achievements from the game further proving that it’s not on the table any longer.

This…Is not true. Subs increased after it was implemented but subs started declining midway through Cata which was probably a year after RDF was introduced.
So you can’t really blame RDF for the decline…

You GOT your game. You GOT to play “Classic” the way YOU wanted it to be. And you still can!

Why is it okay that YOU get to get the game you want, but it’s NOT ENOUGH for you? Why is it not okay for us to ALSO get to play OUR Classic game?
Yes, I am very upset at this. Yes, I am malding, because I have literally been waiting a decade to play this game again that got me into WoW, a game that helped me through so much garbage with my family, running countless random dungeons with people, meeting people getting to KNOW people. Some of the people I have known the LONGEST in my life were people I met and talked to through the random dungeon finder in Wrath. People who helped me to get through some of the hardest situations in my life. I wish I could swear right now because god this conversation makes me so, so upset.
I hate that I’m being told by people on the forums who don’t care and wouldn’t use it anyways and would absolutely rather group with their guilds and besties anyways that I am wrong for wanting to play Classic the way I did back in 2010. I’m aware that for the first year or so of Wrath that it didn’t exist, and I’m aware that later social norms pushed the RDF from being a helpful tool for alts to being a lobby simulator for people who didn’t want to talk.
Nothing is stopping you from talking during RDF runs. You can still be social! The first step to being social is for you to step up and talk first! Stop making excuses. Stop saying RDF’s existence would stop you from letting you be social. Stop saying that RDF existing would take you away from guild groups because you want the bonus rewards.
You are making excuses for wanting to take the easiest path, and many of you (people who are against RDF) want its exclusion to continue gatekeeping Classic and not letting people play it the way that they want to. Classic doesn’t exist for nostalgia, it exists EXCLUSIVELY for people who can’t compete anywhere else to wave their junk around as if it matters and stop other people from playing the game.
And Blizzard doesn’t care because they know that they’re gonna make bank off of it anyways. In 6 months when a vast majority of the population stops playing because they hit 80, they did the first tier of raids, and decide “I’ve had enough, I’m gonna play something else” people are going to move to the largest server they can because the remaining number of people playing isn’t enough to feed every server because no one wants to spread the wealth around. Classic WoW andies are all the same – You’re locusts. You chew through all of the content, gatekeep it away from other people, and gloat about how great the “community” is.
You’ve got my money Blizz. You did it. I bought into the nostalgia, thinking I’d get to play the game I loved back in the day, even if the circumstances are different now. I wanted to try out other classes, and play all of them to get different experiences in heroics. But, why would I level and gear alts to play a waiting simulator where I have to spam in chat hoping to find literally anyone to play with because I’m not able to play at the peak times. I hope that in time you can find a way to fix all the server issues so everyone can play on one or two servers and you can save yourselves some money in the long term.
RDF is a RETAIL Wrath mechanic, this is CLASSIC Wrath which is a DIFFERENT game that will NOT have RDF.
We did NOT need RDF since the launch in 2019, LFG has worked FINE for all these years and I never ONCE heard you complain.
LFG should be the ONLY method of finding a group as it preserves the Community Spirit of Classic.
If you disagree then you can go back to Retail where you AND RDF belong.
I’m not playing Retail because I don’t like Retail.
I didn’t complain about LFG in Classic and TBC Classic because they were explicitly games that did not ever have RDF in any form.
Wrath DID have RDF and it was a large component of why I continued to play the game from that point onward. But, you’re a known troll. Why I’m still wasting breath responding to someone with half of a singular brain cell is beyond me. Congrats for making me upset! You did it little buddy! Good job!
If you want RDF, addons will fill that space.
Blizzard is so understaffed they can’t even respond to tickets for over a month or even address servers bugs. You likely will not be prosecuted for using third party options to get what you want.
The servers are overwhelmed with bots. There’s so many issues, most people will get away with anything right now.
I don’t think RDF is the best option, they need to improve on the system they have. Although I don’t feel RDF is as game breaking as everyone that’s getting triggered about it. It is just not healthy for the game in early phases, I don’t really need it regardless since I just pre-make groups with my guildies.
Imagine being THIS toxic simply because I’m telling you the Truth about RDF.
If this is the type of toxic energy that RDF brings then you can keep RDF out of our Community for good.
Working on the system they added took way more work then just leaving the RDF tool that already existed would have
RDF has NEVER existed in Classic, it is a purely Retail feature.
