I think the LFG tool is superior to RDF, we just need to provide them more feedback to fix it. While leveling an alt I was able to find groups very quickly.
I believe Wrath Classic without RDF will bring back A LOT of players.
It’s Wrath, it will undoubtedly bring players in. We will never see 14 millions players again. Collectively throughout the top in the genre, there is not 14 million monthly active users.
Nice job cherry picking a single post instead of the thousands of others demanding no RDF or they will unsub.
I don’t think you understand how in demand Wrath Classic is going to be, it is easily one of the best MMO experiences and we even saw a game like New World reach over 2-3M players during its launch peak total and FF14 is reported to have in the 10M range.
It wouldn’t surprise me to see a massive surge of players especially with all the changes made so far.
There’s some folks who made post who didn’t like the system for several reasons. One I stumbled across was the vote kick feature and how it was easy to abuse.
Your experience with LFG tool is fine. Without RDF plenty of people will simply opt to not run a single dungeon while leveling as there is no teleport to/from the dungeons and it severely hinders the leveling process to stop and run to a dungeon.
Personally, instead of leveling my alts I’m choosing to not level them at all as RDF made it a much better experience.
Yes I remember there being a lot of posts as well about it killing the social activity in the game along with bringing in more toxicity and criminal type behavior due to cross realm.
RDF is a retail only feature, since it will not be coming to Classic we should work on making the LFG tool better by giving them proper feedback.
Or draw a lot away. Classic isn’t really bring back a lot of players back, even with the LFG tool, so what makes you think it is the Dungeon Finder that is drawing the players away in the first place?
The current group finder is a feature from retail, just altered to be designed for Wrath Classic. The Dungeon Finder was originally a feature from Wrath of the Lich King, added in patch 3.3.0 in December, 2009.
The community is already hard at work making addons that show the downfalls of how LFG opens the door for gatekeeping. Here’s an option from an LFG filter: https://i.imgur.com/YO3d4tu.png
Because RDF is one of the many changes to the game that led to things like LFR and WoW tokens and the whole boosting culture, it created a community of people who no longer wanted to work for anything but have it handed to them.
There are a lot of MMO players who want to play a MMO that still gives you that old school feel and Wrath does just that without RDF.
What you are describing is a RETAIL Wrath feature, CLASSIC will NOT be having RDF and the new LFG is designed specifically to maintain the social interactions that Classic is known for.
People left because both Vanilla and TBC are not as good of an expansion as Wrath, Wrath is Crown Jewel of WoW expansions and it will 100% bring back old players while still appealing to new ones.
People use this word so much it lost all its meaning.
I want to select whose in my group, RDF takes that right away from me and FORCES me to play with Randoms.
The people you are inviting out of the LFG tool ARE randoms. Are you telling me that you somehow know all the players on your server and are hand picking the ones you know? Something smells like bs here. It sounds more like you just want to be able to make group comps for 5mans that you don’t have to share gear in.
