Some items dont sell enough to buy them out and attempt to resell. The demand isnt high enough. They’ll just keep getting more of that item and undercutting by the same absurdly high amount. If you wany reference as an example I listed the Trecker pet for 100k gold a week ago. It sold within a day. Few days later I bought another with the 7th legion currency. Again I list it for 100k. Then someone comes by and undercuts me to 40k. I bought them out then relisted both. They put another up and drove the price down so much that thw pet is at 20k now on my server. Please explain to me how anyone is winning here. The person undecutting me is so clueless its hurting me. I hate that.

On my server I kept having people sell bs items for 25-50k

So I made a blacksmith and started selling things 4-15k

I got a few angry pm, then all of a sudden my stuff was bought.

Next min they are back to 25-40k so I made a bunch more.

Few more angry messages and then the market dropped to 1.5-8k

Blacksmith gear for all!

Checked a few days later and it never went back up.

You have it overpriced based on the US Median value of the pet. Also, you aren’t getting hurt.

Well you are wrong in my case because my main does have that - you are basing your research on a false assumption, i.e. everyone is posting on their main account. When you are dealing with people who are talking about gold, that is very often a bad assumption.

Awesome, I hope for this response. That’s when I either buy it all out and wait for prices to come back up or just let them take a bath on the low prices and save mine for later.

That’s because anyone who is serious about their money doesn’t waste it on yet another useless and expensive mount.

Considering they mentioned that the market never went back up indicates that the market is stagnant and doesn’t move and that the people who bought it up were the gougers who were buying to resell.

So if they had done the “keep the market healthy” excuse I keep hearing, then they would of made no gold as their item would of never of sold.

Last I checked, “some gold” > “no gold”.

I think at my highest I have been about 3.5 million gold. Well short of the Brutosaur.

I buy the one that’s highest on the list, I don’t care if it’s the same price, 1 copper cheaper, or 500 gold cheaper, whichever one is at the top gets my money.

I did this with cut gems once. I want to say in Pandaria.

I saved up a bunch of higher end gems and just to see what would happen, I cut a few and listed them in the 70-80 gold range. These were gems that were going for thousands of gold each. No one bought me out, they delisted their gems and undercut me.

I still have no idea why.

Well I am not sure about that. I bought the mount and I am not really serious about making gold. The guy I was talking about earlier who is super serious about gold, i.e. he has close to a billion and is aiming for that, also bought that mount because it enables him to park it at a mailbox and cancel and repost his auctions faster.

Not worth the cost. First of all, there are less expensive ways to put a mailbox next to an auctioneer. Secondly there are plenty of mailboxes decently close to the auctioneers. A few seconds travel time is not worth the extra cost.

You buy one of those mounts for status, nothing more. There’s nothing wrong with that but plenty of people don’t care about status.

not true in a lot of cases - what status is there when you park it in the garrison next to the mailbox there ?

and when you have auctions on 10 plus servers and are playing the cancel and repost game, that time saving of running back and forth is worth it.
