As stated above I am trying to get the artifact pole and can’t seem to get the luminous pearl. My fishing is maxed, I have the achievement bigger fish to fry (on sept 15th). I have reviewed the videos and posts on the pearl, have tried almost every fishing pole on the continent and still no Pearl.
If anyone can give me a suggestion on how to fish up the FLIPPIN pearl it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Oh and I tried to check the Armory but it showed 2 Zmokin named toons but neither were mine???
I can’t remember what I did now, it was so long ago (on my Hunter.)
I probably read the Wowhead comments. So I probably tried the stuff there. They say things like:

Fish from the pools.

Turn off any lure
-
Have 100/100 legion fishing (now, since the change.)

Turn off auto loot (not sure what that would change, but some people swear they got it then.)

Runescale Koi pools, in Suramar are mentioned. That sounds familiar, so that may have been what I did.
I thought you couldn’t get the artifact fishing pole anymore?
No you can still obtain it.

I fished mine up from pools in the Suramar Harbour. (About 52, 80.)

Nah, you can still get it and its traits still work.
No lures Kalu’ak fishing pole. Fished pools along suramar coast and before that the pools in Valshara. Guess I will try the runescale pools in suramar. Oh and my Legion fishing is maxed 100. Thanks for the replies.
Sorry folks turns out that I hadn’t finished Bigger fish to fry on my hunter it was on my lvl 104 druid. He can’t finish it till he hits 110. Thanks again.
so I have started the job of catching all the fish on my 110 hunter and got the Axefish I fished the barracuda pools all along the coast of suramar and didn’t get a bait for the Ancient black barracuda. I am now hoping to catch some of the fish I need inland.
Do they? I thought there was an issue with the swim speed one…

Much like the Water Strider, the Artifact Pole is one of the BEST items in game, hands down. Possible even MORE than the Water Strider/mount gear.
Because you can swap your weapon and the fishing pole out IN COMBAT. So when it comes to getting around or GETTING AWAY the fishing pole is an unbelievable tool.
Seriously, I would vote it most important item in the game right now.
You don’t get the swim speed bonus when in combat with the fishing pole anymore. They changed it in patch 8.1.5 or 8.2, don’t remember exactly which patch, because people were using it to get away from players in warmode.

Because that’s EXACTLY what I was using it for. And the hypocrisy of this is that sometimes I used it to get AWAY from people, sometimes I used it to CATCH people.
If you can’t say it’s all “bad” (which I just proved it isn’t), you shouldn’t change it, Blizzard. That’s too bad.
Oh well… it’s still a nice item.
Yeah, I loved it XD I could outrun druids in their Aquatic Form, it was hilarious.
It is, which is why I made this thread. I already have mine and have it capped, my thread was to request that it be made easier to level now that Legion is no longer current content and the massive fishing groups no longer exist as well as the AH no longer being flooded with lures.
That’s all this thread is about, is making it easier to level since its far harder to level than it was when legion was current, that way more people who want to put in time and effort can level it.
Not even asking for it to be faster than it was in legion, just brought back in line with the amount of time it took to level in legion.
There was a lot of empty space, on that pole.
The thing that surprised me was that it did not get new traits, you farmed in BFA.
It seems like such a waste, how Blizzard throws away content like that.
