I see some old threads on the topic from back in 2024, but I just wanted to check and see if they ever added some way for double gatherers to earn artisan acuity? I want to make my profession tools for herbalism and mining but I don’t earn nearly enough artisan acuity.
I also remember reading something about how you could have the crafter provide the artisan’s acuity but I don’t see that as an option?
Are you not earning acuity from getting KP when herbing/mining? (From the weekly drops and the catch-up like null silver) Gathering is actually faster than crafting at getting acuity.
For tools, the crafter cannot provide the acuity. Only for recrafts and a couple of other things
I do earn 5 acuity per catch up point, but it’s so little compared to my alts that are crafters. I get somewhere between 10-30 per crafting order daily sometimes just by filling the npc crafting orders, so it feels like either there is something I’m missing with gathering or it’s just intended to be a very slow grind.
It is kind of a perspective thing.
Your crafters can gain Acuity faster while they have Patron Orders or First Crafts available.
But gatherers right now are effectively unlimited Acuity gainers until their profession is complete.
Yes, 5 Acuity per KP seems like a trickle, but an hour or two of solid gathering can net you 40-50 KP, which is 200-250 Acuity, and is more in an hour than you can gain in a day on a crafter after the initial burst.
Also, the initial profession quest still provide 350 Acuity even to double gatherers, which is a single tool in its own right.
My observations. In my last trial on Apr 1:
It took 9 minutes and 28 seconds to get all the weekly drops in mining (8 KP or 40 acuity).
In the remaining 50 minutes and 17 seconds of the trial, I got 30 null silver, or 150 acuity.
That totals 190 acuity per hour, but of course it includes getting the weekly items.
Doing things like hallowfall seeds in a group can speed things up a bit.
Edit: you can also mine in a group. That’s how I got some of my guildies to get months of KP in one session. Er. It’s a bit like a carry. You need people who have filled trees to get you the extra chunks on rich nodes and who can tradeoff overloading EZ-mines so you can overload every single one. All of those chunks can be shared.

In terms of catching up, gatherers have it golden for having their main tools made yes. It’s another thing for getting ALL the tools and the books. My double gatherers that have been caught up for several months now are just now closing in on their cooking hats! The KPs tree is filled as of this week and it will still require two weeks until the pins are done. Still debating whether I get them a fishing hat.
