Do we know, is the Artisans Consortium going to be a forever thing in crafting? Its definitely not a bad idea but there are some improvements that should be made if not already an idea they have. I hope they can make it so you can create orders for all realms. This would allow us solo’ers to create orders for toons on different realms.
As someone who has alts but has all of their professions on one server, I would love to be able to craft things for my alts. I do think Blizzard should allow us to craft things cross-server for our alts only; if they were to allow cross-realm crafting with no restrictions, how would this affect the crafting system for all players?

Well i would say it would be more for the crafters and the ones getting something crafted. On my realm (Illidan) there are NEVER orders that need to be crafted. Im not sure if its because noone is ordering or that they are scooped up so fast you never see them. This would allow crafters a much larger pool to get crafting orders from. You know that weekly where the consortium wants you to fulfill 3 crafted orders? yeah have had that quest for weeks now. Sure i could reach out to guildies to ask to order stuff but im not the only player on this game and players should not be forced into guild servitude to get orders crafted. Also this is just another step in reviving the profession system. Im kinda hopeful with the new expac coming out allowing war bands and the cross realm guilds. This definitely opens the door to cross realm crafting.
Yeah, that weekly quest I ended up just using alts to complete. It was hard to even get my guildies to do it; most of them were uninterested in the professions due to the extra work to make them profitable and worth it.
I do hope Blizz continues with the current crafting/profession system in the new expac. The war bands are a great way to make the profession system more fun; my only hope is that Blizz actually sees that and expounds upon it lol.

This seems to be a realm-wide thing. I am on Thrall, and there is a lack of crafting orders. Or if there are, players (1) want me to craft high-quality and expensive gear and bags for 1,000g per commission while supplying zero mats or (2) they ask me to craft mats like Chronocloth that sell for a lot on the AH while providing little to no gold and no mats. It’s nutty.
