I have this unlocked on my warlock, just wondering are you unable to unlock any of the variants?
I thought the actual mage tower appearance was the unobtainable one not the variants

I could be remembering wrong, but I believe they said as long as you have it unlocked you can do the variants.
As long as you have the base appearance unlocked, you can get the other colors still.

You sure it’s the Mage Tower row? They only X out the entire row for something that you can no longer obtain (so if you can’t even apply the base appearance then you didn’t unlock it for that spec). If you’ve unlocked the base Mage Tower appearance, you do still have to do the activities required to unlock the extra colors on that specific character. Like kill Heroic Kil’jaeden, or do 12 Legion Dungeons, etc.
Equip the Artifact and go to your order Hall. You can see what the requirements are for each Appearance.
You had to unlock it for each individual spec back in Legion. Getting one on Destro didn’t unlock it for Affliction/Demo.
You also can only earn progress towards the other tints on the specific character that unlocked the appearance.

You still need to do the requirements for the appearance, like 10 rated bg wins, legion dungeons, etc.
I thought this was about opening up the challenges again or maybe new challenges for different colours/variants to obtain for the players that missed out. I am not against this. I just request the same for all limited time challenge gear.
Now if more players are opposed to that idea. Just ignore and move along with another suggestion.
This is correct gotta make sure the base weapon is equipped. When doing the requirements to unlock the different colours.

The 3 alternative tints can be unlocked still, if your character had unlocked the base mage tower skin. It has to be done on that character. You cant do it on alts (even if alts can use the appearances).
I’ve recently unlocked the legion dungeon tints on a few different alts. Still need to see if heroic KJ is soloable at 60. As for the 10 rated BGs, no thank you!
Incorrect. They dropped that requirement long ago.
