i have seemed to notice something in the king arthur book , arthurs father is uther pendragon and theres uther in wow ,uther light bringer but , i seem to notice that pendragon sounds familiar bolvar fordragon and pendragon is given to the ruler of a state ,country , continent. and bolvar is (was) the lich king is there some relation to all the books and wow , also arthur = arthas seems to similar
Yes, it is known that Arthas was based very loosely, including his name, on the Arthurian legends and stories. Obviously the twist was that Arthur turned evil in this case.
The quest line for Shadowmourne, has you relive the moment Arthas picks up Frostmourne, which is very reminisce to Arthur recovering Excalibur, and thus the King is born.
It’s one of the many reasons Arthas story resonated so well and it is by far the best villain this game has had. It is the quintessential hero’s journey archetype.

There is also, due to again the same type of archstory development, a lot of similarities and echoes through his journey as the same journey to downfall that Anakin Skywalker took until becoming Darth Vader. The best warrior, the hope for all descending into madness, through doubt and vengeance eventually turning evil. It’s a story told a thousand times.
