Arthas' Return in SL

Despite us not knowing how Arthas will play into Shadowlands, what are you predictions?
I’m hoping for an Arthas & Jaina reunion - it’d be interesting to see how they would interact after everything.

I hope that the half of Uther that is presumably trapped in the Maw by Frostmourne finds Arthas and guides him. Would be interesting if there was a sort of “resistance” in the Maw with people like Uther’s half, Arthas, Varian, and Garrosh leading it. They could expand on the friendship that Varian and Arthas canonically had, and Garrosh could grow to respect Varian’s strength after his time presumably spent in Revendreth

Just like they do with all “bad guys” lately, I’m sure Blizzard is going to redeem him and turn Uther into the villain.

Heck, maybe they’ll go full Illidan and make it so Arthas was right this whole time and Tirion and the Argent Crusade were the real bad guys who prevented him from saving the universe from the jailer or something.

I would seriously not put it past the current writers to twist the Lich King’s motivations in WotLK into recruiting the strongest souls to fight a greater evil.

I hope he is the one who kills Sylvanas lol that would be a satisfying death she gets ended by the one she hated more than anyone and caused her to become what she is.

I think we will find out that once he picked up Frostmourne and later donned the Helm, he was no longer in completely in control and dominated by the Jailer.

Uther and the chick (forgot her name) will be punished for just tossing Arthas into the Maw. Considering Frostmourne was shattered, not sure why Uther’s other half of his soul didn’t go to Bastion, unless all souls captured by Frostmoune go directly to the Maw.

As for Sylvanas, maybe she and Tyrande will kill each other or Sylvanas becomes the new Jailer.

Shaping up to be quite the ride. Hoping we get Ursoc back though, properly gutted :frowning:

I

want

a

redemption

arc.

Before this Shadowlands hooplah; I imagined a shamed, disgraced, hooded figure travelling the byways and backroads of Azeroth; A haunted, tormented Arthas, finally free of The Lich King’s grasp, doing his best to make amends for all the horrible attrocities he committed under Nehr’Zul’s sway, but try as he might, the blood will never wash off his hands.

Turns Sylvanas mortal; she gets torn apart by her former comrades because she’s no longer Forsaken; Stupid, stupid Fan-fiction shtuff like that.

Arthas is far from a bad guy lol

I hope he re-acquires the two pieces of his helm, and returns in full Lich King mode usurping Sylvannas’ place as the Jailer’s right-hand mortal, preferably by ramming whatever new sword he gets through her chest straight between her undead jubblies. Again. With a ####-eating grin on his face as he does it.

THERE IS ONLY
ONE
TRUE
KING

My prediction is

We save Uther.
Uther says we should save Arthas
We save Arthas.

OR
In order to save Uther, we have to save Arthas.

OR,
We try to save Arthas, but KT has already done it.

I think this will definitely happen, one way or another.

Best scenario. We save Arthas and he dropkicks Sylvanas and her new BF.

I hope he gets a redemption where he somehow sacrifices his spirit to kill the Jailer since in a round about way he was the one responsible for Lorderons fall. Then he turns into anima and no longer exist so Blizzard doesn’t have time to ruin his character in future expansions.

Well you’re already wrong there.

Rejoice.

I’m thinking we won’t see much of Arthas, if any, in Shadowlands.

How do you figure?

Blizzard would do themselves good by leaving his storyline alone. It was that good and messing with it can undo the legacy.

Eh im there to chase down sylvanas and do what ever we need to do versus the jailer. So Im hoping they dont get to side tracked on side stories about the dead.

Hubristically ruining the legacy of previous devs is basically the current dev team’s modus operandi.

Definitely fair enough.
