hello blizzard… can we have art of war reset exorcism’s CD as well as make it instant cast? it would make ret play sooooooo much better. the reckoning glyph buff helped A LOT with increasing our damage a bit but i would love to have art of war reset exorcism again even if it means flash of light is no longer instant cast… that’s what it did in the past at least soo can we pls have art of war reset exorcism’s cd? ty

Rets dps performance is fine, though if they keep buffing other specs like they did to Feral ret would need the buff again. Like IF warriors get a buff you have to hit ret again too.
ik, it’s middle of the pack right now… with ignite munching and deep wounds munching getting fixed and omen of clarity proccing off of fearie fire feral i think rets should have exorcism cds reset by art of war…
those would be HUUUUUUGE dps increases for both fire mages AND arms warriors… right now ret is just sitting there WAITING for their t10 2pc to become a top 5 dps… i think art of war resetting exorcism’s CD would be a SIGNIFICANT increase too and make it easier to play
There dps increases let’s not go and call it huge.
Mages already use a weak aura that fixes the issues enough to min losses. So the losses to those using it are not much as per some mages I seen posting without sources in the range of a 5-10 percent buff if the bug was fixes warriors it’s even less impactful for. So while yes it’s a buff for them it’s hardly huge. Furthermore to the point of caps and stretching it out. While trying to get buffs for yourself is fine overselling the inpact of other buffs when you aim to get yours makes it look like you don’t know what your talking about. as such tells people that your suggestion is not a good one to use.
I much prefer the instant cast flash of lights though…
I spot heal a lot during progression when people dip low if the healers are pressured. It’s one of the major benefits of having a ret in your raid.
I’d rather see art of war reduce the cast time of exorcism by 50%\100% and then also reduce the remaining cooldown of exorcism by 1 sec/2 sec every time you get a melee crit. Being able to instant cast exorcism every other global as you’ve suggested would be a bit overpowered.
It probably wouldn’t be super overpowered given that exorcism is basically the last button we want to push, so there are plenty of chains of attacks where exorcism is ready to cast, but you don’t do so for like… 6 seconds because you have to judge, divine storm, crusader strike and consecration before you have a global free.
I’d still rather them not mess with art of war in that way. It’s better to have a few free globals to heal/cleanse/etc instead of being GCD locked for a tiny DPS increase.
alright that’s fair. i didnt know the exact numbers bc i literally only play ret… it seems like a lot of classes are getting their issues fixed atm… and correct me if i am wrong here but didnt art of war used to reset exorcism? or am i misremembering things?

that’s basically what p4 will be with our t10 2pc but instead of exorcism it’ll be divine storm… just look at the tool tip on wowhead “melee attacks have a 40% chance to reset the cooldown of divine storm” i don’t think i need to say how big of a game changer that is/was
My pally is in very bad gear for some pieces (still stuck with H MgT trinket lmao), and I’m still getting crits left and right. I think this would absolutely make ret do way too much damage.
you’re right… i guess they could ad a % chance of resetting exorcism? like how grand crusader works for prot pallies with avengers shield? maybe a 15/30% chance of resetting exorcism? maybe that could work?
Tbh, I don’t think ret needs another buff, they seem fine after the current one.

It’s really not op, the rest of the spec is weak without it.
It’s only the last button we push because of it’s CD. You want exorcism to be available for use everytime you hit the window where all your other abilities are on CD at once. If you prio’d exorcism right away when it comes off CD, then you’d increase the odds of having 1 second windows of time where literally all your abilities are on CD. Exorcism is the highest damage attack Rets have after Judgement. If it had no CD, your rotation would be Judge > Exorcism > Crusader > Exorcism > Divine Storm > Exorcism > Crusader > Exorcism etc.
Nah, it’s also low damage, on spell hit chance, doesn’t trigger an SoV hit, and only crits for 1.5x that leave it pretty low on the actual priority.
It’s one of the worst buttons you can push, even if glyphed to deal 20% more.
