Around? Or Through?

Just a little light hearted thoughts here, because I woke up way too soon, LOL.

When you are in game, and you are near or around other players, do you go around them when you come across them, or do you go through them as if the were not there at all?

The reason I ask, is I had a few people that were following eachother and go right through me while I was standing in town. (Not only me, but everyone.) And it got me to remembering, that when 1st person games first came out (70’s and 80’s. Yes I am betraying my age, LOL)
It was considered an insult to walk through people you came across. I mean, you were actually called out, (And sometimes publicly screamed at.)

And 30 some years later, I notice that now it is standard to just get to where you are going as fast as possible and go right through other players.

I found myself going around people without thinking about it, I assume because that is how I started gaming.

Do you go through people as if they are just NPCs, or just game objects, or do you consider the other person a "entity’ in the game and you respect that space like you would if you came across that person on the street?

(Just some light hearted curiosity here)

Probably 50/50 that I walk around people just out of instinct or whatever.
Sometimes I try to stand exactly on top of people so that our gear meshes… cause I get bored and find that funny. If they run away or move away I’ll leave them alone though. I don’t pester people other than my friends and guildies lol.
