How do Arms players feel about m+ this season, and now after the patch? Is it a viable spec, or are you just gimping yourself not going as Fury? Always loved Arms, wondering if it’s worth going for it again
Following!
I’ve been arms forever and I never felt weak, though until the patch our builds were definitely too specialized - meaning our AoE damage really suffered the more we invest into single target and vice versa. The new talent trees and buffs are substantial. Sweeping strikes baseline is big. The new overpower talent and buffs are overpowered (har har). Cleave and Whirlwind buffs are huge. Now you can also talent into skullsplitter and keep most aoe talents. That’s very huge. Spec feels very good with good gear and 4pc tier. Don’t sleep on arms!
Arms performs better than Fury when you’re in more difficult content because it has more sustain with cooldowns and Execute damage. It’s great in M+ with the proper build, both single target and cleave. You ideally want to have your 4pc before hand, but with the recent buffs both specs are strong and competitive so it’s your preference.
So I just made arms my main after the outlaw nerf and honestly it’s great. I’m topping the meters almost every time. I’m 385 ilvl with my 4 set and a 405 weapon so that helps. I can go aoe spec but still do pretty good damage single target so I’m happy with it.
My warrior is only 375 ilvl and just finished a +8 NO with average 52k dps. Arms is really strong right now and with the 10.0.5 patch you can now take stormbolt and ignore pain gives you great survive ability. Its also a ton of fun spinning around like a mad man.
I forgot to mention with the best build that are out there we still have pretty bad utility. I still see it being hard to get into groups over rogues or monks
Both are good. Arms is better in some dungeons, while Fury is better in others. The big difference is the AoE cap between them. Arms is not hard capped at 5 targets for some of their bigger damaging abilities.
