Arms... has lesser versions of abilities from 2012 mmos

Funny, Demolish is like an ability Bioware used for Jedi Knights and Sith Warriors at launch Of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Master Strike for Jedi, Ravage for Sith. It was a channeled ability for 3 seconds while 3 attacks hit. cool animation rad. The only difference was in the Swtor versions this ability LOCKED DOWN any enemy you hit with Master Strike or Ravage, PvP included. By 2015 or so they removed the ability lol

and here we are 13 years after SWTORs release and we have demolish. a lesser, poorer thought out version of MS and ravage… i dont really wanna play any other class that bad. and fury feel less than it did 3 or 4 weeks ago now… fun. borderlands nerfs “youre having fun? no, no you arent.”

Yeah, nah. You’re off the mark there lad.

Demolish is easily one of the best abilities added to the warrior kit for Arms and Protection. It’s a moment of high damage you work towards and has a fantastic pay off for when you pull it off in dangerous situations.

Channelled abilities have also been some of the most fun melee abilities throughout WoW’s history such as Bladestorm, Fists of Fury, Fury of the Eagle and Killing Spree.

Then we’ve got the galaxy brain uses for Demolish it’s CC immunity that nullifies mechanics when you time it right, giving a nice tactical edge for Arms/Prot where thinking a few steps ahead allows you to outplay in style.

In terms of it’s PvP viability that’s mostly been fixed with Storm of Destruction applying to it as well, however tuning wise that’s an entirely different aspect as Colossus is a spec that thrives on critical strike and there are both nerfs to crit damage in PvP alongside anything that hits hard will be neutered with PvP modifiers because the insane damage mods it has for PvE do not translate fairly for PvP.

Arms is a spec that still plays like it did in Legion but it gets progressively worse every patch, the gameplay is just awful but it keeps relevant because tuning and elitists thinking they are hot by playing a bad designed spec

Demolish is one of the worst skills added to warrior, if not the THE worst, its a downgrade to what the legendary axe from DF was

Its counterintuitive, as you get more dps by not using due to the stacks being too good, and it needs a massive amount of prep and set up to work, and even then, you need to hope for a crit(a stat we dump) to deal the damage is supposed to do. It can easily be disabled by stuff like disarm. Awful.

But since most mobs in pve dont run away from it, like in pvp, some will say its amazing. And since those are the majority that blizz cater to, it only left us to play fury :man_shrugging:

The higher damage throughput when not consuming the stacks is intuitive. I agree that the damage output is quite dependent on crits but the biggest benefit is that it’s completely predictable. You can actually plan out your win condition reliably; banking on procs otherwise is even more random. Maintaining high stacks gives us decent sustain while we set up a go. The biggest problem with demolish though is that it’s fairly easy to counter. I appreciate the addition of SoD but classes that already run can still mostly just walk out of it without sacrificing cooldowns. Missing the full channel is still really punishing to the warrior.

I memba SWTOR. I played a smuggler and healed people in PvP. I was a terror
