Arms Dps Feels SO bad

i have more dps on my fury warrior then my own arms, how do people slap hard as arms?

Arms, while straight forward, is very punishing when it comes to rage expenditure. Too many slams, and your damage will plummet.

I’m not the best here, but happy to help. I think the most helpful would start with insight into what you are doing currently. I don’t want to make any assumptions, so what is your plan and what content do you use it on?

Look up guides to get the rotation down and get the big arm knowledge, check your raid logs, see what you did wrong and improve upon it and keep practicing on the spec.

It doesn’t feel great on single target, but is amazing on cleave fights.

Im at about 19% haste now, and its a lot smoother than it was at 10% haste.

Maybe gear or stat allocation is the issue?

Also as other have said, dont spam slam to the point where you miss out on better attacks.

Practice and skill matters. So does having the right legendary, conduits, and stat priority. Just because Arms sims ahead of Fury doesn’t mean you can switch specs and instantly realize the full potential difference. You gotta commit to make that happen.

Or, not. I tried Arms for a few days and just wasn’t having fun. So for now I’m sticking with Fury and trying to keep a stiff upper lip when I check the raid logs. Who knows, maybe they’ll do another round of balance tweaks after the holidays? We can only hope.

Arms is not fury. Fury is about that apm, abc, and dumping rage for those rampages.

While ABC is a good guideline, only slam spam when over 60 rage otherwise save it for MS. OP for your free damage and rage casts.

Line up WB for damage windows. When itemization evolves to the point 20% is commonplace I foresee people calling for warrior nerfs.

Fury will shine when high crit stats are easily achieved.

Haste is the downfall of arms at lower ilvls…it had the same issue at the start of bfa. I share a similar fate with survival.

It feels awful to hold off on using spells…but as others said hold off on using slam or whirlwind at low rage.

Also if you aren’t at 20% haste…prioritize it. Don’t forget about ring enchants.

Guides such as icy veins can help you with the rest. No point in typing a long paragraph here when somebody already did all of that work in an easy to understand way.

I thought crit was stronger for arms than fury?

After the haste break point whereas fury is always good with crit first and last

Haste is not that important to arms.

Do not do this.

This is definitely not a thing.

Ok. Certainly helps to crit as fury to activate enrage but I suppose technically the value of crit falls after a certain breakpoint. Kinda expected for analysis from you rather than a sweeping dismissal

That’s not a thing.

Got my wires crossed with classic. Haste is important to fury. To the point about arms… don’t aim for at least 20% haste? iLvl not withstanding? Don’t want more auto attacks and a hasted MS?

You don’t specifically “aim” for any stat percentage or amount. The only correct way to optimize your gear is by using a top gear sim.

There are many stat breakpoints, generally for haste, and synergistic ones for fury’s mastery/haste amounts. These are all taken into account.

Haste early on is important. But hey if you want to sit at no haste, rage and waiting for white swings by all means.

We’ve been through this song and dance before.

Edit: remember when it was so important that you even stacked it with corruption? Exactly.

Crit is more important to reducing the number of empty GCDs than haste.

That was entirely due to ToM. Which is no longer in the game.

Pre bfa, and even during bfa without ToM traits, arms never really cared for haste.

Yep at later stages of the game when it’s easier to have haste and other stats

What does this have to do with anything.

I mean, for arms its generally “haste to 20%” and then focus on kind of a balance of crit and mastery.

I PREFER crit so once I’m at my 20% haste I’ll chase crit to 30% first. But thats just me.

Anecdotally, haste at 20% feels pretty darn solid.
