Soo, i know people think slayer is still slightly ahead, because of how clunky demolish is…
but just looking at the negative pvp modifiers, slayer is hit hard by pvp modifiers just like the entire arms tree, so I think even just the passives in colossus tree alone might make it better than slayer currently.
0 hero talents are nerfed in col, 6 are nerfed in slayer … -_- what’s everyone’s opinion since the patch tues?
the only benefit to slayer is slightly more mobility with reduced CD to charge/leap, and lower Bladestorm CD… but i don’t know if thats enough to out weigh the sizeable dps increase in colossus tree and extra damage reduction?
I guess being able to pummel and Stormbolt in Bladestorm is pretty huge in slayer also, idk
because col got considerable buffs, and with the MS / execute / overpower buffs, it is going to outscale slayer by a bit, considering almost every damage ability in the slayer tree is nerfed by 50-66%… lol
This is a serious take, you’re losing a tiny bit of mobility and some utility during bladestorm by going colossus, but damage on col in theory should be ~15% higher, not counting demolish. and u have roughly 5-10% better survivability between buffed ignore pain and extra 2.5% passive damage reduction in colossus.
I’m just trying to get some input by warriors that have played both SINCE tuesday, at respectable ratings in 3s/RSS, not sold on col being better.
i mean GL saving ALL your abilities to perform the atake 1shot demolish cause thats what you need to even get ONE usage out of it.
you gotta
save all your off cds for the 1 moment
wait for all defensives to get wasted
wait for healer to get CCed
make sure the person you have targeted is stunned
make sure they dont walk out of your demolish
its about like 1-2 min to even get ONE good demolish off to make use of it while slayers literally constant damage and bladestorm cd being about 40 sec like is it really worth that 15% ignore pain buff?
no, you dont survive 5-10% better 2% damage mitigation is so miniscule to the massive damage output slayer gives you and the dots arent even good unless youre running strict haste (counter to the specs build and efficiency)
and 15% of 400k of ignore pains like 30-50k like LMFAO its not even worth running
youre legit griefing yourself if you arent slayer bladestorming a whole team to their graves with 3 stack accel
I think slayers better. Having a single global hit for an Ms and a slayer strike does usually more damage than what Colossus will put out on a regular basis. I’m also not a fan of demolish, and a fully charged slayer bladestorm hits about as hard as a demolish.
I think colossus is viable and potentially on par but the clunkiness of it just makes it feel worse. Slayer just has so much consistent pressure, it just works.
Too bad because I really like the concept of colossus. Plus dat 5% size buff.
justice for gnomes . that size increase on tauren and dragon warrior is so cool i love colossus but as everyone has said it just feels so clunky. on the other hand who has the best demolish animation i got dracthyr in dragon form.
yea but slayer bladestorm overwhelm stacks are nerfed by 66% in pvp, not sure if you have, but go to drustvar and look at the hinderance of pvp modifiers in the slayer tree… it will amaze you.
I’m not saying its better than slayer, but its worth testing. 2.5% dmg reduc, stacking overpower damage 50%, 15% ms damage, more bleed damage, 5% flat damage, 20% more ignore pain, 10% more crit damage… even if you don’t use demolish, it might be better honestly.
I played like 60 games yesterday at ~ 2k mmr and used both depending on the matchup.
I think that if you play colossus into something like mage or hunter+feral/rogue then you’re absolutely trolling as the combination of added mobility on slayer and kick/bolt on bladestorm is way better.
However, vs something like sp/shaman/lock or other melee cleaves (if you somehow ever Q into one), OR something with pets and an immobile class (hunter+dk, hunter+sp, hunter+demo were all comps I saw), then colossus is insane.
I also think colossus is jsut awesome when playing with a DK as well. The extra 1s on shockwave stun, the bonus tankiness between ignore pain and more deep wound healing, and the added damage from even suboptimal demolishes is more than what you’d generate from slayer.
Also, if you ever demolish a stun dr on you then the tempo shift is UNBELIEVABLE. I LOVED opening on a lock and demolishing him in the opener with bolt + no buttons pressed to immune the feral stun into a triple fear and slamming every CD to murder the warlock scum.
