Changed my name days ago, and the wow armory is not updating these name changes, making it so I can’t use Raiderio or Warcraftlogs Can’t open a ticket in game.
Unfortunately the armory tends to like to update in it’s own time, though usually it just takes logging in and out to do so. Sometimes a password change will help, but not always. A ticket would not help, there is no manual update, it just needs to refresh given time.
Alright thankyou! Ill try logging in and out a few times, then changing my password. Thankyou Kozzae. Also, strangely the APP on my phone does reflect the name changes but on the website ( on my computer) it does not.
That may be a browser cache, try clearing it out, a Control-F5 press should force the browser to load fresh.
Its definitely armory side my DK is still wearing gear from reset even though I have changed gear multiple times since then (gained like 7 ilvls overall across multiple pieces).
The armory is being buggier than usual right now and there is a vast delay in it’s updating. If you’ve tried (1) logging out of the forums completely and then logging back in, (2) changing your password, then there really isn’t anything else that can be to done to nudge it into updating. I would ask you to please post in the Website Bug Report forum. The more people that are reporting this, the more data the folks who handle such things will have to try and pinpoint the issue.
is there one person in the entire game that the armory is updating for? because all of the things that access blizzards API since the twitter api function change has been broken, including the armory.
So us mass reporting an issue that is effecting literally every single one of us wont help
Speaking from experience, yes, it is. I did a lot of things across several alts, and while it took several days, it did eventually update. So whether I was an anomaly, I have no clue.
Again, the big thing to remember is that people who depend on raider.io and such - this is a player-created dependency. The game itself isn’t broken. People can play it just fine. That’s not to say that they’re not working on the issue, but it’s not something game-breaking. Blizzard could decide tomorrow to break the API entirely, rendering all of those third-party sites irrelevant. That they’re breaking isn’t really a concern for Blizzard, they’re not necessary to play the game. That players choose to depend on those third-party sites, that’s not on Blizzard. Some people manage to play this game without ever needing to fool with any of that, just as there are some people who live and die by those third-party sites.
The issue is a known one, they are working on figuring out why it’s doing this this time around. Hopefully, it’ll be rectified with the weekly reset, but nothing has been said officially as yet beyond our SFAs admitting it to be a known thing.
I am running some tests still about what updates and what does not, also waiting till weekly reset to see if it updates then.
Most things do update talents etc, its just gear changes for me that dont.
still no fix and it is for many people who dont have name change
Have you perused this forum?
There is clearly a server-side issue, given the plethora of reports littering this forum.
Yes, I am familar, hence my statement about it updating in it’s own sweet time, and a ticket not being ideal, and likely why a mod moved this to bug report rather then CS.
The ‘sweet time’ has changed from reliably at least once/day to nothing since maintenance in NA on Feb 7. No mythic run information has changed, gear hasn’t changed. Nothing. This is definitely a bug on Blizz’s part. Can’t wait to see the fix on Feb 14. holds breath
Lazy devs aren’t going to fix this anytime soon, there are still people with bugged profiles, but no amount of bringing it to their attention has fixed it in months.
So no one at blizzard is taking this bug seriously since “it works in game” and “raider dot io is a add-on player dependency?”
Well guess what, Blizzard’s customers depend on it.
A broken API is a broken API.
A broken API that is used by addons so they can do what Blizzard won’t do, as Blizzard benefits from farming out a lot of engineering work to third-parties who develop add-on support for their game that everyone uses.
That means Blizzard’s responsibility here is to maintain their API.
Blizzard gets hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, in free value-adding engineering, in return they make sure their API works. That’s the deal.
im sure blizzard is taking it serious and trying to figure out what is going on with it… dont listen to random forum posters who act like they have some insider knowledge. They know just as much as you, if not less.
I’d like to think that Blizz is taking it seriously but without any comms from them, we don’t really know now do we.
It is definitely armory side has not picked up change in gear or additional kills since about last reset. Go here: Wow armory not updating since last weekly reset - #8 by Kixan-zuljin
My char (this one) xmog is not updated in the website armory (it does not look like how it looks in game right now)
Maybe small thing, but…
Care to fix it, Blizz?
armory not updating again. been about a week now. logging out and back in, not helping. changing browsers not helping. staying in game for at least an hour, changing zones, going to barbershop, not helping. hitting ctrl+F5 not helping.
