Hey I think it’s time to bring this old one up again and see if devs listen since they have been making old mogs easier to get lately. You probably know that the trial of valor used to have 4 quests to give you different ensembles of “The Armor of the Chosen Dead” but that the mythic quest to get it is no longer available. I just want them to add the pieces to the dungeon to make them obtainable. I have no Earthly clue why they would have removed them when they are some of the coolest looking sets in the game. Just add them to the bosses and let me grind them out if you don’t want the quests. Problem solved. It’s not like they removed the models from the game, just the mythic quest.
They liked this concept of “prestige because you were there and did something challenging.”
But I’m sure it’ll be back for Legion Remix.

Oh wow was that the reason? I joined at the end of legion and did the group finder through heroic during early BfA. I really enjoyed the style since a whole lot of this game to me is about having outfits. I was going to go get a friend to do mythic but I couldn’t because it was suddenly gone. I don’t really care for the concept of “prestige” I just want to dress up.

Because they were always intended as a time-sensitive reward for doing a raid on the hardest difficulty that frankly didn’t have any other rewards to begin with.

See, I remember them as quests you did. There was no no death as a thing.
As far as I remember it there were 3 kinds; 1 as a rare drop, 1 as a quest, and 1 for doing mythic.
Interesting. I just know them all as quests and there were 4 kinds. Maybe they changed it at the start of BfA? I have 3 of the sets for my hunter and I know I didn’t do them as current content.

the LFR ensemble is a rare drop from any boss on any difficulty
The Normal ensemble is for doing the quest
The Heroic ensemble can be obtained as a 100% drop from heroic or mythic helya
The Mythic ensemble is no longer obtainable, and required clearing the raid in a single run with no deaths.
I swear I did 3 quests to get these. Maybe that info was current at the time of legion, but not at the time I got them.

That being said, not everything returned for Panda-Remix (Challenge Mode Gear + Ashen Phoenix Skins earned from Expansion when current).
Although I can understand why it wasn’t – as those were challenge mode earnables and remix is sort of a “Lets cheese it!” aesthetic on the gameplay.
I wouldn’t mind if challenge mode gear, Mage Tower weapons and even Elite Gladiator Mounts + Gear returned →
So long as it was still difficult to earn.
Because it could present a huge goal for players to strive to, with the returning rewards.
For example:
- PvP – if every 50 wins above X PvP rating gave you a token and you needed so many to get blahblah armour set or mount from the past — It’d inspire people to PvP a whole lot more.
- Mage Tower – I think is still difficult, and as someone who has most of them – I could care less if they made them earnable so long as they beat the tower on the respective class specs.
- M+ … Well that could serve as an intriguing challenge, not sure how that one would be presented but I’m sure if you earn X rating you get ONE token (per season) so you won’t catch up to those that got it on each & every season, however you’d still have a chance @ earning past rewards.
and so on …
Especially for returning or new players, there’s so much gear, mounts, titles and more that’s unearnable now — It’s rather disheartening to them when they see something cool but get told they’ll never ever be able to strive for it. Having a one off is like “Sure okay” but after several? … Hmm. lol
The raid isn’t a challenge mode, though. And they did add Garrosh shoulders onto a vendor.

Garrosh shoulders were also never unobtainable though, you can still go do garrosh now and get them.

You can still get some of the Mythic set. Just not all of it.
Don’t you think that there’s enough to strive for now? Just let us get the gear from drops, what would be the issue? That 10 years ago some of us got it from a difficult challenge? I just went and did “put that thing back where it came from” and it sucked. Been at it for over a year. If they released those ensembles free in the main tomorrow I would jump for joy that no one had to do that dumb achievement anymore. Games used to be about de stressing. If I had to choose to focus on raid night or doing a whole bunch of stuff to get an armor set because I might actually black out from stress (which has happened to me) if I do both then it has become not worth it. No more sweat in games please. Not every single game is Dark Souls, nor should it be.
I mean that statement, I’ll return it to you. Don’t you think there are enough transmogs to use now that you don’t need to tread on things people did a specific challenge to obtain?
Ummm… you can get every piece except the helmet and shoulders as drops from the Mythic raid right now.
There will literally never be enough transmogs, no. And to Sendryn I know, but the 2 coolest pieces are not there.
