So I just got completely humiliated tonight when I discovered that there is some armor kit that you can put on your chest and asked in raid what that was. I always rely on Icy Veins, I go to the consumables page and use everything they recommend. But not one mention of any armor kit.
How am I the only one that didn’t know this thing existed after all this time? Where can I go to find out about all these things?
Please spare the insults, I know I’m an idiot, I heard enough of that tonight. Thanks.

wowhead.com is the place to be my friend. It’s where I get all my news regarding these things.
Edit: FYI: Weapon Oils came back as well. That is in addition to weapon enchants.

Its made by Leatherworkers if youre wondering, pretty easy to craft too.
Probably because you use icy veins as your guide…

Yeah that’s great if I know what I’m looking for. But if I don’t know it exists, how can I search for it on Wowhead?
So what guide do you use?

TBH armour kit doesn’t really give you a huge benefit. Maybe 1 melee swing if it didnt crit. But if you’re having survivability issue yea best to have it. Also it last 2hrs and persist through death so it’s nice.

Well, not really.
So wowhead has lots of guides you can browse. Also, every class area has a section on consumables, enchants and stuff regarding gearing. All tailored to the spec you are interested.
There are also, many frequent articles being posted for “returning players”, what to expect, preparing for x content (m+, raid, pvp) and other stuff.
I always say this: Wowhead is basically a mandatory companion to playing this game “effectively”. If you get in the habit of always having it on a tab and looking at the news, you get accustomed to their format very quickly.

And there it is, heavy desolate armor kit. Thanks man. I’m using wowhead’s guides for on now.

They are pretty good (some classes better than others of course), and many times it’s by the same guys at icy-veins. Just wowhead’s format allows for more information.
There is also the Class Discords. Those are also often very helpful.

Their not bad for what they do, even persist through death like a flask.
Very cheap too and fantastic for a bear druid since HP total affects much of our sustain.
Thanks guys. I just bought a bunch of them. They give me whopping extra 500 health. At least I haven’t been missing much.

lol I generally have no fewer than about 6 wowhead tabs open at any given time
such is the life of an altoholic… I’ve always got some quest chain I’m working on, some mount I’m farming, or I’ve just acquired an item I have no idea what it’s for.

Probably because you’re a Balance Druid. Armor kits are for tanks.

All good don’t take it to heart, alot of people are probably not aware of it too. Doesn’t make you stupid or silly you asked a genuine question.

My suggestion is to always refer to multiple guides. That way you can get the info even if one guide misses something.
Relying on just 1 guide is what got you into this in the first place.

Don’t be embarrassed. You didn’t know, so what?
I too had no idea that armor kits were back. I liked them back in vanilla.

Use as many guides as you can find. I also have a saved link to Method’s site they have guides too. Not every spec is covered there but they do have most. This character is not worth enough to post links.
Armor kits are for anyone that cares about not being that guy who died because they had 500 less hp than they could have had.

Increasing your stamina as a DPS is more about giving your healers more time to react to unavoidable damage than needing to survive extra damage.
Getting hit for 99% of your HP is way scarier than getting hit for 95%, y’know?
Good advice. Also lets you catch discrepancies and be able to ask questions that improve you as a player
