Arlaeus ban

imagine banning a streamer who streams a large majority of their game time and plays with multiple toons, thinking he is a bot. classic team has no idea what they are doing with anything, and its so obvious.

Is this name and shame? Can I get a hall monitor to tell me if this is name and shame or advertising?

I can stream 23.95 hours of actual gameplay but that .05% of an hour of botting is enough to get me a ban

Another one bites the dust.

I just watched his video hes logged back in as far as I can tell. I think the ban was really dumb but you made a post about his ban after he was reinstated without really any points?

It’s not. It’s naming, but not shaming.

As for the OP… I don’t know this guy. Maybe he was wrongfully suspended, I believe it is possible for Blizzard to make that error… but it is worth mentioning that pretty much everyone ever banned for botting claims that they didn’t do it.

Arlaeus is that good and efficient at what he does so why would he even need or want to bot? He can make an insane amount of gold per hour probably with his eyes shut.

His content is cool and everything… But he was banned on a “New account” blah blah blah… Are you friends with him? DO you live in his computer room? Just cause he streams, doesn’t mean he DOESNT bot. Especially considering hes doing this fulltime, making an extra 150$ a day doing nothing on a separate PC… Cha ching

Yeah, this. While I can see Blizzard making a mistake in their botting detection, I have yet to see anyone (other than on the old Elitist Jerks forums) actually own up to botting when they have gotten caught.

It’s like in the Shawshank Redemption when Red claims to be the “only guilty man in Shawshank.” Everyone else in the place was innocent.

Thanks.

Putting faith into blizzards automatic unmanned bot banning algorithm is almost as silly as believing a book thats been rewritten by kings over 2000 years as the word of god

Lmao

seperate pc seperate acct. main acct get banned. point invalid.

No, it’s not worth mentioning at all.

What percentage of people caught botting have you actually spoken to?

I believe that he wasn’t botting simply because that particular guy has no reason to. He’d need 10 bot accounts to come close to what he earns in his main. He is really, really good - much better than 99.9% of aoe farming mages, a group that includes me. Super efficient, never dies, etc

He’d only bot if he was selling gold.

He prob was botting

That is a good point. I do try to distance myself from pathing exploiters, griefers, gold-sellers, and other nefarious types. All of the people I know who are protesting are on the forums.

Not sure what it proves, but still a good point.

Thanks.

He makes some very nice YouTube video guides for mages. He seems like a very nice person, and a well skilled mage. I’d be surprised if he’d have a reason to bot, but what do I know?

Blizzard has hit a number of false positives before, and even among larger names in the community it was difficult to get the ban removed.

Best of luck to this guy.
