Argus "Fresh Talbuk Meat" cat taming for Hunters

This item drops rarely, 1.7% according to wowhead.

Hunters need this to tame those cats like Ancient Duskcloak in Krokuun, Antoran Wastes and Mac’Aree.

The tame is tricky not straight forward, to sum up:

  1. the meat may not work in uneven terrains
  2. you need to drop aggro but it usually fails working with freezing trap and terrains
  3. no visual confirmation like debuff to show the cat took the meat

Its not a challenging or skill tame, its just a bad system that makes it annoying.
I tamed one and failed 7 in a row for Panthara Apex.

I just remembered we have about 3 of these for my Hunter, after a couple of fails.

I did not know all that stuff!

Ok let me reply to my post. I finally tamed one after 8 failed attempts.

The instructions from wowhead are correct but I have to add some extra precautionary steps:

  1. Obtain a Fresh Talbuk Meat.
  2. Throw Freezing trap.
  3. Feign Death from a distance to remove aggro. (otherwise you will aggro again in 2 seconds)
  4. Camo and approach carefully. (You will aggro again without Camo, so its important)
  5. Make sure you don’t have aggro! (very important)
  6. Throw meat FROM STEALTH.
  7. Hit tame!

Followed the directions exactly at least 10 tries and evades every time. There is no other one with this coloring - Ancient Duskcloak. I have tamed the green ones. Blizzard needs to take a look at this issue and fix it. And refund me the Fresh Talbuk meat.
